Epstein survivor reveals Trump DOJ's attempt to 'silence' victims backfired spectacularly

One survivor of Jeffrey Epstein's horrifying crimes revealed on Sunday how the attempts by President Donald Trump's Department of Justice to silence victims have backfired spectacularly.

Last week, the Trump DOJ released more than 3 million new files from the FBI's investigation into Epstein, a disgraced financier and convicted sex criminal who has been accused of running a global pedophile ring for wealthy clients. The files included personal identifying information of more than 40 victims, according to several reports, a move that survivor Liz Stein described on Sunday as a way to "silence victims."

Stein revealed in an interview with Alex Witt on MS NOW's "Alex Witt Reports" that the Trump DOJ's move prompted more victims to speak out against the administration. Her comments come at a time when Congress is preparing to depose Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell on Monday. Maxwell is expected to invoke her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, according to reports.

"When we saw the release of the files a week ago, and we saw the horrific admission and exposure of survivors' names and information, those are tactics that are used to silence victims of crime," Stein said. "But it really did the opposite for us. It energized us, and it had us refocus and continue on our journey to justice."

The culmination of that refocused effort will be seen on Sunday during the Super Bowl, Stein said. Survivors are releasing an ad on social media calling out the Trump administration, and Attorney General Pam Bondi specifically, for her handling of the files.
