UAE Partners With Starlink to Connect 100 Remote Schools Online

  • UAE and Starlink to deliver satellite internet to 100 remote schools worldwide.
  • The Digital School expands digital education access in underserved regions.
  • SpaceX continues Starlink launches as global connectivity efforts grow.

The UAE has joined efforts with Starlink to deliver high-speed internet to 100 remote schools worldwide under a new agreement announced at the World Government Summit. The campaign centers on expanding access to digital education through satellite connectivity, targeting underserved and geographically isolated communities.

The Digital School operates under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation. It disclosed the partnership with Starlink to deploy satellite-based internet services in remote regions.

According to statements shared during the summit, the UAE will use Starlink’s satellite network to overcome geographical challenges that restrict access to digital classrooms. The partnership focuses on combining inclusive education models with advanced connectivity infrastructure. Following the report, officials noted that the project supports efforts to promote equitable learning opportunities and sustainable development through education.

Ryan Goodnight, Senior Director of Market Access and Development at Starlink, joined Emirati astronaut Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi during the announcement. Goodnight disclosed that the initiative centers on improving digital access for students in underserved regions of Africa. He described the collaboration as an effort to support sustainable education delivery in areas where traditional broadband infrastructure remains limited.

The announcement aligns with recent Starlink agreements in other regions. In India, the state of Gujarat signed a letter of intent with SpaceX to expand connectivity in underserved and border areas. However, the UAE partnership specifically targets education infrastructure through the Digital School framework.

Broader SpaceX Activity Surrounds Education Push

The education agreement comes as SpaceX continues multiple Starlink launches. In early February, a Falcon 9 mission deployed 25 Starlink satellites from Vandenberg Space Force Base. The booster completed its 13th flight and landed on a drone ship in the Pacific Ocean.

Meanwhile, NASA and SpaceX prepared for the Crew-12 mission, adjusting the launch schedule due to weather conditions and technical checks following a static fire test. The mission targets liftoff from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
