PANews reported on February 18th that, according to Cryptopolitan, the Jupiter DAO has launched a vote on a proposal to reduce the net "emissions" of the JUP token to zero. This aims to cancel the Jupuary airdrop and avoid further dilution of the token amidst a continued market downturn. Voting will end on February 22nd. The proposal offers two options: First, retain Jupuary and open airdrop inquiries and distribute 200 million JUP within one week of the vote's conclusion; second, adopt the zero net issuance plan, indefinitely postpone Jupuary, return the prepared 700 million JUP to the community's cold multisignature wallets, indefinitely suspend the team reserve issuance, accelerate the unlocking of Mercurial tokens, and absorb selling pressure by buying back some newly released JUP.
