PANews reported on February 21 that, according to Jinshi, US President Trump pointed out, as Justice Kavanaugh stated in his dissenting opinion: "While I disagree with today's ruling, it does not materially limit the president's ability to impose tariffs in the future, because many other federal laws—such as Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, Sections 122, 201, and 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, and Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930—still authorize the president to impose tariffs." In fact, the Supreme Court's decision today makes the president's power to regulate trade and impose tariffs clearer and stronger. They did not overturn the concept of "tariffs," but rather negated a specific application under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. Under this act, the power to impose embargoes, restrictions, or conditions on foreign trade is fully affirmed. To protect the nation, the president can now impose more tariffs than ever before, based on other authorized laws.
