Global banking giant Citigroup is preparing to take a major step in the crypto space.

Accordingly, the $2.5 trillion banking giant CitiGroup plans to build a new infrastructure specifically designed to integrate Bitcoin into the existing financial system by the end of this year.

At this point, Citigroup states that it plans to integrate Bitcoin services for institutional clients in 2026.

Citigroup will launch the infrastructure to integrate BTC into the financial system this year. With this move, Citigroup is essentially trying to make Bitcoin suitable for banking.

According to Bitcoin Magazine, Citi is building the infrastructure that will enable Bitcoin to be used within traditional financial networks.

This will integrate banking systems with Bitcoin and strengthen the link between the two.

This also opens the door for Bitcoin to be used as a tool in banking transactions.
