MANILA, Philippines – It’s time to again feel warm on a cold night.

English electro-pop duo HONNE see their upcoming return to Manila as a “really, really special” event as they hold a one-night concert at the PICC Plenary Hall on August 10.

The tandem of Andy Clutterbuck and James Hatcher promise to bring out the hits, which has endeared them to legions of Filipino fans.

The Philippines is the musical act’s second-biggest listening base on music streaming app Spotify, making up a large chunk of their 3.8 million monthly listeners.

“This next show is going to be really, really special. So for these tours it’s going to be stripped back late night vibes, acoustic slash late night electronic lo-fi kind of thing,” Hatcher told Rappler in an online interview.

“I already have visions in my head of having all our amazing fans in there singing along to our songs with the most beautiful voices in the world — which Filipino people are very, very famous for — to prove us correct every time we come back,” he added.

HONNE last performed to headline Day 2 of the Wanderland 2025 music festival last March, which was one of their many visits to the country thus far.

Among their memorable shows in the country was their sold out show at the Araneta Coliseum in March 2023, where almost 17,000 fans filled the historic venue.

“It’s like our largest headline show that we’ve ever played anywhere in the world and it was just incredible. We came off stage thinking, ‘Wow, it’s never going to get any better than that,'” recalled Clutterbuck.

“I think we actually came off and went, we’ve peaked…that was the best moment of our career, but you’ll never know there’s a chance to be proven wrong,” he continued.

“We’ve had so many great moments in the Philippines and we just love playing shows there. We can’t wait to come back and do it again.”

The duo promises to perform in a way consistent with their upcoming anniversary album, HONNE — 10, which is set for a May 15 release.

HONNE — 10 is a special re-recording project featuring stripped back, reimagined versions of songs from their first two albums, Warm on a Cold Night and Love Me/Love Me Not.

Among the 12 songs is a collaboration with Indonesian crooner NIKI, Location Unknown [10 Years], which was released last March 6, while Warm on a Cold Night (10 Years), was released earlier.

“We thought it would be lovely to revisit those songs from the first and second album because we can’t celebrate 10 years of every album because people will think that’s insane as much as we’d love to,” Hatcher said.

“We can’t wait for people to hear it. We think it’s a really lovely body of work that people hopefully will really enjoy.” – Rappler.com
