The Norwegian technology company Opera has introduced an Android browser designed to support emerging Web3 technologies. The new browser integrates blockchain functionality directly into the browsing experience, allowing users to interact with decentralized applications and cryptocurrencies without relying on external extensions or specialized software.

The launch marks an important development in the evolution of web browsers, as it combines traditional internet browsing with blockchain-based services. By embedding a cryptocurrency wallet and Web3 compatibility into the browser itself, Opera aims to simplify access to decentralized technologies for everyday users.

Bringing Web3 Access to Mobile Users

The Android browser includes a built-in crypto wallet that enables users to store and manage digital assets while browsing. The platform also supports Web3 features, which allow direct interaction with decentralized networks and applications.

Krystian Kolondra, Executive Vice President of Browsers at Opera, explained that the company intended to provide Android smartphone users with a modern browsing tool capable of delivering a smooth Web3 experience. He indicated that the goal was to make blockchain technology accessible even to individuals who had previously only heard about it but had never interacted with it directly.

Kolondra also suggested that simplifying access to blockchain technology could help accelerate the transition of cryptocurrencies from speculative investment tools into practical instruments used in everyday digital transactions and payments.

Eliminating Barriers to Web3 Adoption

Opera’s new browser attempts to address a common barrier associated with Web3 adoption. Previously, individuals interested in interacting with decentralized networks typically needed additional applications, browser extensions, or technical knowledge.

Charles Hamel, product manager responsible for the Opera Crypto initiative, indicated that the traditional process of accessing Web3 often created friction that discouraged experimentation among new users. He explained that the integrated wallet and Web3 compatibility in the new browser were designed to remove those obstacles and make blockchain interactions significantly easier.

Through this approach, Opera hopes to encourage more users to explore decentralized services without the complexity typically associated with cryptocurrency tools.

Support for Ethereum and Decentralized Applications

The browser currently supports the blockchain network Ethereum, one of the most widely used platforms for decentralized applications. This integration allows users to conduct transactions directly from the browser and interact with decentralized applications, commonly known as DApps.

Developers can also use the browser’s compatibility with the Ethereum Web3 API to create and test blockchain-based services that function directly within the browsing environment. According to Hamel, the decision to prioritize Ethereum was influenced by the network’s large developer community and the strong momentum behind decentralized application development on the platform.

Opera believes that integrating cryptocurrency wallets into browsers could eventually become a common industry practice. The company expects that widespread wallet integration may enable new digital business models on the internet.

Infrastructure and Blockchain Connectivity

To ensure secure and reliable blockchain access, Opera’s Android browser connects to the Ethereum network through Infura. Infura provides infrastructure that enables applications to interact with the Ethereum blockchain without requiring users to run their own full nodes.

Industry observers view this integration as a meaningful step toward improving accessibility to decentralized applications.

Joseph Lubin, co-founder of Ethereum and founder of ConsenSys, suggested that the integration of a crypto wallet and DApp exploration features within a major web browser demonstrates growing support for next-generation internet technologies. He indicated that such developments could significantly expand access to decentralized applications and encourage developers to continue building within the Ethereum ecosystem.

Expanding Web3 to Other Platforms

While the current launch focuses on Android devices, Opera has also indicated plans to extend Web3 capabilities to its desktop browsers. Versions for Windows, macOS, and Linux are expected to include similar blockchain features, with early developer versions already available for testing.

The company’s broader strategy reflects a belief that decentralized technologies will play a growing role in the future of the internet. By integrating blockchain functionality directly into its browser, Opera aims to position itself at the forefront of the transition toward Web3-enabled digital experiences.

Top 3 Cryptos Under $1 That Could Hit $10 By 2028

The post Top 3 Cryptos Under $1 That Could Hit $10 By 2028 appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Investors are increasingly looking for tokens with long-term value in 2025. While Cardano (ADA) keeps showing strong performance in the market, and Dogecoin (DOGE) keeps holding onto community-led speculation, a new token, Mutuum Finance (MUTM), is building something much larger.  Unlike speculative memecoins, Mutuum Finance is building real utility in the shape of its decentralized lending and borrowing protocol as it positions itself to be a fundamentals-driven project that will go way, way beyond the $1 threshold. As the market anticipates the next cycle, the following three coins, Cardano (ADA), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Mutuum Finance (MUTM), are gaining traction for their potential surge to $10 by 2028 but MUTM’s unique value proposition shines extremely brightly. Cardano Holds Firm Amid Market Turbulence Cardano (ADA) is trading at $0.86 currently, level with the rest of the market as investors weigh in upcoming network upgrades against shifting macroeconomic trends. Cardano (ADA) retains its place as one of the flagship layer-1 projects focused on scalability and sustainability, but market participants are increasingly turning towards newer protocols with stronger growth drivers, and Mutuum Finance stands as a better choice in the DeFi market as it evolves. Dogecoin Halts After Rally as Market Considers Next Step Dogecoin (DOGE) is at $0.27, still considerably above its recent level of support after a very active rally. There is resistance at $0.30, and support at the $0.22-$0.25 level, which means probable consolidation unless new buying pressure is seen. Volume has reduced somewhat, suggesting some profit-taking by traders as they await better signals. In comparison to DOGE, analysts are now equating Mutuum Finance as having greater potential for gains. Mutuum Finance: Phase 6 Mark Presale Mutuum Finance has enjoyed a phenomenal level of traction in presale with more than 16,370 investors buying coins and more than $15.9 million raised thus…
