Key Takeaways
Check CFD trading hours for forex, gold, oil and indices. Convert time zones, understand daily breaks and plan exits before overnight swap settlement.

CFD trading hours determine when you can open or close a position. The trading session and overnight swap settlement run on separate clocks, so an exit planned just before the fee cutoff may already fall outside trading hours.

On the MEXC contracts checked for this article, Monday-to-Thursday trading ended at 23:58, while swap settlement was at 23:59 in platform time. The practical task is to identify the last executable trading time, convert it to your local clock and allow time to confirm the exit.

Current MEXC CFD Trading Hours

The following schedules were checked on November 2, 2026, with the UTC+2 display selected on the MEXC contract pages. All times in this section use that basis.

These are normal weekly schedules for the named contracts. Holiday adjustments, seasonal changes and temporary restrictions can override them.

Forex CFD hours: EUR/USD

The EURUSD CFD trading page displayed:

  • Monday to Thursday: 00:01–23:58.
  • Friday: 00:01–23:57.
  • Saturday and Sunday: closed.

The normal daily trading break therefore runs from 23:58 until 00:01 on the following trading day. Friday's earlier close begins the weekend closure.

Gold CFD hours: XAUUSD

The XAUUSD CFD trading page displayed:

  • Monday to Thursday: 01:01–23:58.
  • Friday: 01:01–23:57.
  • Saturday and Sunday: closed.

For this gold contract, the daily break extends from 23:58 until 01:01 on the following trading day. Using the EUR/USD reopening time would put a planned gold order an hour before its session begins.

Oil and index CFD hours: USOIL and NAS100

The USOIL CFD trading page and NAS100 CFD trading page both displayed:

  • Monday to Thursday: 01:01–23:58.
  • Friday: 01:01–23:57.
  • Saturday and Sunday: closed.

Those matching times apply to the two contracts checked. Other oil or index symbols need their own schedule check.

Read the Trading Column Before Placing an Order

On the MEXC web trading page:

  1. Open the exact CFD symbol you intend to trade.
  2. Select Info and locate Trading Hours.
  3. Choose Local Time or the displayed UTC-offset option, and record which one is selected.
  4. Read the Trading column for the relevant day, including every break and the next opening time.

In MT5 desktop, open the symbol's context menu in Market Watch and select Specification. Its Sessions section lists quoting and trading sessions by weekday.

Quotes and trading can have different windows

In the verified XAUUSD schedule, quotes began at 01:00 but trading began at 01:01.

For USOIL and NAS100, the Quotes column extended to 24:00, while the Trading column ended at 23:58 from Monday to Thursday.

A displayed price or an active quoting window therefore does not establish that an order can execute. Use the Trading column when planning entries and exits.

Convert the Date as Well as the Clock

Use this calculation when converting a schedule shown in a fixed UTC offset:

Your local time = displayed time − displayed UTC offset + your local UTC offset

For the verified gold schedule:

  • Monday 01:01 at UTC+2 equals Sunday 23:01 UTC, or Monday 07:01 at UTC+8.
  • Friday 23:57 at UTC+2 equals Friday 21:57 UTC, or Saturday 05:57 at UTC+8.

This explains why an Asian local-time schedule can show trading early on Saturday even though the UTC+2 schedule lists Saturday as closed. The same session crosses a calendar boundary during conversion.

For EUR/USD, Monday's 00:01 opening at UTC+2 converts to Sunday 22:01 UTC or Monday 06:01 at UTC+8.

When Local Time is already selected, read the converted dates and times directly. Applying another offset would shift them a second time.

Recheck CFD Trading Hours When Daylight Saving Time Changes

MEXC's CFD FAQ states that platform time is typically UTC+2 during standard time and UTC+3 during daylight saving time. A familiar platform-clock time can therefore correspond to a different UTC time after a seasonal change.

Record the current offset alongside any session reminder. Recheck it after clock changes, including when your own location does not observe daylight saving time.

The opening-range example in 3 Practical CFD Trading Strategies With Entry and Exit Rules uses 09:30–09:45 New York time.

That window converts to:

  • 13:30–13:45 UTC when New York is on UTC−4.
  • 14:30–14:45 UTC when New York is on UTC−5.

At UTC+8, those windows are 21:30–21:45 and 22:30–22:45 respectively. Anchor a New York-based strategy to the New York clock and convert it for the date being traded.

The strategy window defines when to look for its setup. The CFD's full trading session is listed separately.

Set the Exit Deadline Before Trading Stops

MEXC's CFD FAQ specifies daily swap settlement at 23:59 platform time:

  • During standard time, 23:59 at UTC+2 equals 21:59 UTC.
  • During daylight saving time, 23:59 at UTC+3 equals 20:59 UTC.

Check the applicable settlement basis together with the contract's trading session. A position must actually close before settlement to avoid that day's swap; submitting an exit request is insufficient if it does not execute.

A practical weekday exit example

Assume you hold an XAUUSD position under the verified UTC+2 schedule and intend to close it before daily swap settlement.

Trading ends at 23:58. Settlement follows at 23:59. A plan to submit the exit at 23:58:30 is already beyond the listed trading end.

If you choose an illustrative five-minute operating buffer, the planned exit time becomes:

  • 23:53 platform time at UTC+2.
  • 21:53 UTC.
  • 05:53 the following day at UTC+8.

At that reminder, submit the intended close and verify that the position has closed. If the exit is rejected or remains unfilled, the exposure remains open.

Friday requires the earlier 23:57 close to be used in the calculation. With the same five-minute buffer, the planned time would be 23:52.

Five minutes is an example planning allowance, not a guarantee of execution. Market conditions, connectivity or restrictions can require a different approach.

MEXC's view is that a useful exit plan works backward from the last time the order can execute. Coordinating the trading close with the settlement clock makes the deadline operationally meaningful.

Check the triple-swap day separately

The verified Info fields showed Wednesday as the three-day swap day for XAUUSD and EURUSD, and Friday for USOIL and NAS100.

A Friday exit does not reverse a swap already applied earlier in the week. Check the instrument, position direction and designated charging day when planning a multi-day hold.

Work Through a “Market Closed” Message

Use the following sequence before changing the trade:

  1. Check the symbol and product. Confirm that you are reading the schedule for the same CFD contract shown on the order ticket.
  2. Check the Trading column and timezone. Include the date change if your local clock and platform clock fall on different days.
  3. Check for a holiday, early close or announced maintenance period. A normal weekly timetable may not apply to that date.
  4. Read the exact rejection message and connection status. Account restrictions, invalid stop levels and insufficient margin require different checks from a session closure.
  5. If the published session is open and the issue persists, contact support with the symbol, timestamp, timezone and rejection message.

After a scheduled reopening, confirm that fresh quotes and trading availability have returned. A scheduled opening time provides a reference for checking the market; it does not guarantee an immediate fill at a chosen price.

FAQ

Can I place a pending CFD order while the market is closed?

Whether a submission or modification is accepted outside trading hours depends on the platform, instrument and order type. An accepted pending order remains an instruction until it executes. Check its status and expiration, particularly if the next opening falls after a weekend or holiday.

What happens to a stop loss during a weekend closure?

An ordinary stop does not guarantee execution at its trigger price when the market reopens beyond that level. A gap can produce a worse exit and a larger loss than planned. Assess that exposure before deciding to hold through the closure.

What are the best CFD trading hours for my strategy?

Evaluate a specific contract and session. Record spreads, execution differences and results during the window your strategy uses, then compare them with other windows under the same rules. A session that produces more signals can also produce higher costs or drawdowns. The opening time alone does not establish an advantage.

Risk Warning

Trading schedules and settlement rules can change. Confirm the current contract conditions before trading. Leveraged CFDs can produce rapid losses, and gaps, slippage or forced liquidation can prevent an exit at the planned time or price.
