Trump barges in to greet own Cabinet as King Charles' handshake gets ignored: video

President Donald Trump barged into King Charles' greeting to his top administration officials.

The 77-year-old monarch shook hands with Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and White House chief of staff Susie Wiles —before pausing his greetings.

And then the 79-year-old Trump sidled over.

Trump barely looked at Charles as he walked past and then took up the receiving line, shaking hands with the officials the British monarch had not yet greeted.

Charles stood and watched — his hand awkwardly outstretched but with no takers as Trump greeted his own administration officials. eventually he withdrew his hand.

"Trump stepped over in front of Charles and continued to shake hands, King Charles pushed aside," X user Julia Mac reacted.

The king previously resisted getting pulled in toward Trump during an awkward handshake when he arrived at the White House.

Charles greeted the president with an outstretched hand, which Trump took into his own and attempted to pull him in closer – his go-to move – but Charles stood firm during the 10-second handshake.

Neither man appeared to be willing to end the handshake first, and it's not clear who ultimately did because the camera view was blocked by Camille leaning in to hug first lady Melania Trump.

The 79-year-old Trump has earned a reputation for showily aggressive handshakes when meeting other world leaders dating back to his first term.

Social media users have taken note of his tug-of-war meet-and-greets with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron and other leaders on the global stage.

They've also taken note of swelling and discoloration on his right hand, which is frequently covered in heavy makeup as it was when meeting Charles.

The White House has attempted to explain heavy makeup coating the back of his hand as coverup from marks left by frequent handshaking.
