The Federal Government has announced winners for the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) inaugural National Impact Challenge, spotlighting fellows who are learning digital skills and applying them to solve real-world problems across Nigeria.

This was revealed in a statement by the communications teams of 3MTT, stating that 610 Nigerians benefited from the initiative out of over 2,500 submissions from fellows across all 36 states of Nigeria and the FCT.

“What we are witnessing through the 3MTT Impact Challenge is the emergence of a new generation of builders. These fellows are not waiting for opportunities; they are creating them. This is how we move as a nation from potential to productivity,” Bosun Tijani, Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, said.

According to the statement, the winners for the National Impact Challenge were awarded across three award categories: 100 Laptop Winners, 10 Tablet Winners and Mobile Data Winners.

“Collectively valued at ₦20million, the prizes were designed to remove barriers and accelerate fellows from learning into impact,” the statement added.

About 3MTT Initiative

The 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) is a flagship initiative of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy in Nigeria, launched in 2023 as part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

It aims to train 3 million Nigerians in high-demand technical skills to build a robust digital economy, create 2 million digital jobs by 2025, and position Nigeria as a net exporter of technical talent.

The programme focuses on areas such as software development, UI/UX design, data analysis, AI/ML, and more, targeting youths, graduates, and underserved communities without requiring prior technical knowledge.

However, the 3MTT National Impact Challenge is a new initiative that required 3MTT fellows and partners to share their transformation stories on social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, or Instagram.

According to the programme team, each story shared adds to a collective narrative of resilience, progress, and transformation, showcasing how digital skills are driving change across the nation.

The challenge invited 3MTT Fellows (Cohorts 1–3), DeepTech Fellows (Cohorts 1–2), and NextGen Fellows to share personal stories across all social media platforms, demonstrating how participation in the programme has influenced their skills, careers, and opportunities within Nigeria’s growing digital economy.

It ran from January 19th to February 14th, 2026. According to the programme team, the initiative is part of a broader effort to shift focus from enrolment figures to measurable outcomes, highlighting how digital training is translating into employment, innovation, and economic participation.

“The National Impact Challenge marks a pivotal moment in 3MTT’s evolution in reinforcing that the programme’s ambition extends far beyond certification. It is about creating a generation of problem-solvers whose work generates measurable economic and societal value for Nigeria,” the statement said.

As the programme continues to scale, Nigeria is actively building the technical talent infrastructure that will define its next decade of growth.
