Netflix has renewed Nobody Wants This for a third season, the streamer announced Wednesday.
Debuting in September 2024 and created by Erin Foster, the romantic comedy follows Joanne (Kristen Bell), who co-hosts a podcast about relationships with her sister Morgan (Justine Lupe), and Noah (Adam Brody), the rabbi she falls in love with.
“I couldn’t be more excited to head into a third season of this show,” Foster said in a statement. “The response from audiences has been beyond anything I imagined when we first started.”
The renewal follows a successful sophomore season that quickly rose to the top of Netflix’s English-language TV rankings. According to the streamer, season two of Nobody Wants This debuted as the No. 1 English-language series during its opening week, earning 8.6 million views in its first four days. It remained in the top spot for two consecutive weeks and appeared in Netflix’s Top 10 in 82 countries.
Comparatively, initial viewership was slightly lower than that of the first season’s debut (10.3 million views). The same trend applied to critical response — Rotten Tomatoes scores dipped from 95 percent for Season 1 to 77 percent for Season 2.
In the final moments of season two, Bell’s Joanne and Brody’s Noah reunite in an emotional scene that leaves their future uncertain — and fans wondering whether Joanne will finally embrace the faith she’s resisted or find a new path altogether.
Additional storylines also hang in the balance: Will Sasha (Timothy Simons), Noah’s older brother, and Esther (Jackie Tohn) stay together? Will Lynn (Stephanie Faracy), Joanne’s mother, continue to embrace her newfound Judaism? And will controlling matriarch Bina (Tovah Feldshuh) finally accept Joanne?
Netflix has not confirmed how many new episodes have been ordered, though expectations point to another 10-episode run for Nobody Wants This.
