  • The US-Iran war is having a massive effect on the global economy.
  • AI chatbots expect the war to end in a few weeks, under certain conditions.
  • Cryptocurrencies would likely surge the most after the US-Iran war.

The ongoing war in Iran is having a toll on the global economy, with energy production and trade activities disrupted because of maritime complications. The ripple effect has led to surging oil prices, crashing stock prices, and volatility in commodity markets.

The cryptocurrency market is not immune to the war’s fallout, as trading volumes have dropped significantly, with investors uncertain about the potential outcome in the coming days or weeks. In the meantime, most market participants are looking forward to the end of tensions in the Middle East, as it could have a positive effect on the global market. Hence, the priority for many investors is when the war will end and how that will affect market conditions.

We asked AI chatbots ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok to predict when the warring parties will sheath their swords and how that will affect the global markets, including cryptocurrencies. Here are the results we got:

ChatGPT

According to ChatGPT, there is a 70% chance that the US-Iran war will last only a few weeks if diplomacy or limited objectives end the fighting. However, it foresees a possible extension, before economic activities return to normal, if the Strait of Hormuz disruption and retaliation continue.

ChatGPT expects oil prices to drop quickly at the end of the war, while stock and risk assets, including cryptocurrency, rebound. Meanwhile, the AI solution predicts that technology stocks will surge the highest post-war, followed by cryptocurrency. It also expects global equities to rise, while oil and energy stocks make significant recoveries.

Claude

Despite acknowledging the uncertainties surrounding the US-Iran war timeline, Claude predicted that it could end in a few weeks if Iran’s military collapses quickly and the warring parties broker a ceasefire. However, the AI chatbot cited Iran’s resilience and installation of a new supreme leader as factors that could cause the war to last months.

For Claude, energy stocks and oil will rebound the fastest if the Strait of Hormuz reopens after a ceasefire, while defense stocks will be the clearest long-term beneficiary. In the meantime, Claude AI expects the crypto market to surge most after the war, considering the volume of institutional buying experienced during the price dips.

Grok

According to Grok, the timeline for the US-Iran war is fluid and depends on military outcomes, Iranian resistance, and diplomacy. However, it predicts that the war could end by late March based on current signals and the degradation of Iranian assets.

Meanwhile, the AI solution thinks the cryptocurrency market has the highest potential to surge after the war, considering its higher upside leverage in a relief/risk-on environment. Grok expects stocks, particularly those of US establishments, tech, and energy, to surge as well, while oil prices and commodities fall.

Big U.S. banks cut prime rate to 7.25% after Fed’s interest rate cut

The post Big U.S. banks cut prime rate to 7.25% after Fed’s interest rate cut appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Big U.S. banks have lowered their prime lending rate to 7.25%, down from 7.50%, after the Federal Reserve announced a 25 basis point rate cut on Wednesday, the first adjustment since December. The change directly affects consumer and business loans across the country. According to Reuters, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America all implemented the new rate immediately following the Fed’s announcement. The prime rate is what banks charge their most trusted borrowers, usually large companies. But it’s also the base for what everyone else pays; mortgages, small business loans, credit cards, and personal loans. With this cut, borrowing gets slightly cheaper across the board. Inflation still isn’t under control. It’s above the 2% goal, and the impact of President Donald Trump’s tariffs remains uncertain. Fed reacts to rising unemployment concerns Richard Flynn, managing director at Charles Schwab UK, said jobless claims are at their highest in almost four years, despite the Fed originally planning to keep rates unchanged through the summer. “Although the summer began with expectations of holding rates steady, the labor market has shown more signs of weakness than anticipated,” Flynn said. Hiring has slowed because of uncertainty around Trump’s trade policy. Companies are hesitating to add staff, which is why job growth has nearly stalled. As fewer people are hired, spending starts to shrink. And that’s when things start to unravel. That’s what the Fed is trying to get ahead of with this rate cut. The cut also helps banks directly. Lower rates mean more people may qualify for loans again. During the previous rate hikes, lending standards got tighter. Now, with cheaper credit, smaller businesses could get approved again. If well-funded businesses feel confident, they may hire again. That could eventually help the consumer side of the economy bounce back, but that’s…
