Tesla (TSLA)

Tesla is the stock the market cannot agree on, which is precisely what makes it trade the way it does. To one camp it is a car and energy company priced like a software firm; to the other it is an AI and robotics company that happens to fund itself selling cars. Every quarter re-litigates the question, and the volatility is the argument made visible. This hub collects MEXC Learn's Tesla coverage. The coverage splits three ways. The business. Electric vehicles remain the revenue engine, with energy storage growing fast beside them — and above both sit the bets the valuation actually argues about: autonomy, robotaxis, and humanoid robotics. Articles here separate what Tesla earns today from what the price assumes it will earn, because no stock in this set has a wider gap between the two. The stock. TSLA is the most retail-held, most shorted, most narrative-driven megacap in the market. It moves on delivery numbers, margin shifts, autonomy milestones, and its founder's ventures and statements — a risk factor with its own name. This track covers the volatility's structure and why position sizing matters more here than anywhere else in the stock set. The crypto thread — and it is a real one. Tesla put bitcoin on its corporate balance sheet in 2021, briefly accepted it for cars, still holds a position, and takes Dogecoin for merchandise, while its founder remains crypto's most market-moving individual. For readers of this site, TSLA is the listed stock with the deepest genuine crypto entanglement, covered here factually rather than breathlessly.

Tesla (TSLA) FAQ

Selling electric vehicles, overwhelmingly — with a fast-growing energy business in storage and solar beside it, plus software and services layered on the fleet. The things the valuation debates loudest — robotaxis, humanoid robots, licensing autonomy — are mostly bets, not yet businesses. Separating current earnings from priced-in futures is the first honest step in understanding this stock.

Because its price is mostly story, and stories reprice violently. A large share of the valuation rests on outcomes — full autonomy, robotaxi economics, robotics — that are years out and binary-ish, so every data point gets read as evidence for or against the entire thesis. Add the most engaged retail base in the market, heavy options activity, persistent short interest, and a founder whose posts move the tape, and the volatility is structural.

That is the whole valuation in one question. The car-company reading says: revenue is vehicles, competition is intensifying globally, margins behave like autos — price it accordingly. The AI-company reading says: the fleet is a data engine, autonomy converts cars into recurring-revenue robots, and robotics extends the platform. The honest answer is that it is a car company whose price assumes the AI company arrives. When you buy TSLA, you are choosing which reading — knowingly or not.

Concrete and unusual. In 2021 it bought roughly one and a half billion dollars of bitcoin for its corporate treasury and briefly accepted BTC for vehicles; in 2022 it sold the majority of that position, citing liquidity, while keeping a meaningful remainder it still reports each quarter. It accepts Dogecoin for merchandise. And its CEO's statements have repeatedly moved crypto markets, bitcoin and DOGE above all. It is the deepest genuine crypto entanglement of any megacap.
