According to a recent SoSoValue update concerning Bitcoin ETFs as of December 11, the daily total net inflow saw a decline of $77.34 million. Meanwhile, the cumulative total net inflow reached $57.85 billion. The total value traded across these Bitcoin  ETFs amounted to $3.80 billion, while the total net assets stood at $119.93 billion, accounting for 6.55% of the total Bitcoin market cap.

IBIT Bitcoin ETF Sees $76.7M Inflow While FBTC Faces $103.6M Outflow

Turning to the individual ETF performances, IBIT (BlackRock) on the NASDAQ reported a 1-day net inflow of $76.71 million, bringing its cumulative net inflow to $62.68 billion. The ETF holds a 3.88% share of the Bitcoin market, but its price dropped 0.74% on the day.

FBTC (Fidelity), listed on CBOE, posted an outflow of $103.55 million, with $12.18 billion in cumulative inflows. It holds a smaller 1.01% market share and experienced a 0.84% price decline.

GBTC, ARKB, and BTC Face Losses as BITB Sees Gain

On the NYSE, GBTC (Grayscale) recorded a $12.21 million outflow and has seen a $25.09 billion decrease in cumulative net inflows. The ETF holds 0.84% of the Bitcoin market, with a daily price drop of 0.77%. BTC (also Grayscale) saw a smaller $10.97 million outflow and holds just 0.24% of the market share, alongside a 0.76% decrease in its price.

The BITB ETF (Bitwise) on the NYSE reported a $8.84 million net inflow, bringing its total to $2.29 billion. The fund holds 0.24% of Bitcoin’s market and declined 0.80% in price. ARKB (Ark & 21Shares) saw a $16.38 million outflow, and its cumulative inflows sit at $1.74 billion, representing a 0.19% Bitcoin market share.

HODL and DEFI See Loss, BTCO Holds Stable, as EZBC and BRRR Show Gains

HODL (VanEck), also on CBOE, experienced a $19.38 million outflow, with cumulative inflows of $1.17 billion and a 0.19% market share. BTCO (Invesco) had no net inflow but traded $215.55 million in value. The ETF holds a very small share of the market

EZBC (Franklin) and BRRR (Valkyrie), both listed on CBOE and NASDAQ, had mixed performances. EZBC saw a 0.54% inflow, while BRRR achieved a 0.56% premium. BTCW (WisdomTree) saw a minimal inflow of $44.83 million, with a market share of 0.01%, while DEFI (Hashdex) posted a minor loss of $1.45 million.

The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO.
