Gas-Free Stablecoin Transfers: Sui Becomes Daya’s Settlement Infrastructure

According to Odaily Planet Daily, Sui said African businesses can now use Daya for gas-free stablecoin transfers and allocate liquidity reserves for cross-border payments, while the integration is also open to developers across Africa. By reducing the need for users to directly pay gas fees, Daya aims to simplify the process for businesses using stablecoins for cross-border settlement. The integration further expands Sui’s role in payments and stablecoin infrastructure, while also showing how blockchain payment products are using gas abstraction to lower operational barriers for enterprises and everyday users.

World to Launch World Money Financial App Across More Than 150 Countries

According to Odaily Planet Daily, World plans to launch World Money, a financial application covering more than 150 countries and regions. The self-custodial app will integrate stablecoins, investing, yield products, and global payments, with integrations involving Stripe, Kalshi, and Morpho. Users who verify through World ID will also be able to unlock higher reward tiers. By combining identity verification, payments, investment, and on-chain financial services in one application, World Money marks a further expansion of the World ecosystem from digital identity infrastructure toward a broader financial services gateway.

Hyperliquid Assistance Fund Token Buybacks and Burns Surpass $1.3 Billion

According to Odaily Planet Daily, HyperliquidNews reported that the Hyperliquid Assistance Fund has spent more than $1.3 billion cumulatively on native token buybacks and burns. The mechanism uses part of the value generated by the protocol ecosystem to continuously repurchase and burn native tokens, reducing circulating supply. As trading activity and ecosystem revenue on Hyperliquid have expanded, the cumulative scale of the fund’s buybacks has also increased. The more than $1.3 billion in buybacks and burns has become an important on-chain indicator for tracking protocol revenue, token value capture, and long-term supply dynamics.

JPYC Urgently Suspends Ethereum Issuance Reservations as Technical Issue Remains Under Investigation

According to Odaily Planet Daily, Japanese yen stablecoin issuer JPYC issued an incident notice announcing the immediate suspension of JPYC issuance reservation services on Ethereum. The function is currently unavailable while the technical team investigates the specific cause of the issue. JPYC has not yet disclosed a recovery timeline or the scope of the impact and said further updates will be released through official channels once more details are confirmed. As issuance and redemption are critical components of stablecoin circulation and user fund operations, the incident highlights the importance of technical stability and operational continuity in cross-chain stablecoin deployments.

Ethereum EIP-8198 Proposes Cutting L1 Block Time From 12 Seconds to 10 Seconds

According to Odaily Planet Daily, the Ethereum community is advancing the “Quick Slots” proposal EIP-8198, which aims to remove client assumptions tied to a fixed 12-second block time through a one-time architectural refactor and enable block times to be shortened progressively based on network conditions. The current proposal would first reduce Ethereum L1 block time from 12 seconds to 10 seconds. If implemented successfully, shorter block intervals could improve transaction confirmation speed and on-chain application responsiveness, while also requiring clients, validators, and network propagation mechanisms to adapt accordingly.

Zcash Community Votes 98.9% to Retain Bitcoin-Style Halving as ZEC Briefly Reaches $1,388

According to Odaily Planet Daily, the Zcash community voted with 98.9% support to retain its Bitcoin-style halving mechanism. A total of 2.4 million ZEC participated in the vote, representing about 66% of eligible tokens. The community also supported reducing block time to 25 seconds, immediately deprecating the Sprout pool, and limiting the NU7 upgrade scope to features that can be completed before September 30. During the period, ZEC briefly reached $1,388, rising 10.9% in a single day, with market capitalization reaching $22.9 billion. The governance outcome affects Zcash’s monetary policy, transaction efficiency, and privacy infrastructure.

France’s Highest Administrative Court Rejects Emergency Request to Suspend EU DAC8 Crypto Data Rules

According to Bitcoin.com News, France’s highest administrative court, the Council of State, rejected an emergency application filed by Bull Bitcoin and Paymium seeking to immediately suspend the French decree implementing the EU’s DAC8 directive. The applicants argued that centralized collection of digital asset users’ personal and financial information could increase risks related to data breaches, extortion, and personal safety. The court found that the applicants had not demonstrated circumstances urgent enough to justify immediate suspension. DAC8 took effect in the EU on January 1, 2026, and registered service providers must complete their first reporting for the 2026 tax year by September 30, 2027.

Ripple Developer Kit Adds Support for Stripe- and Tempo-Designed MPP Payment Protocol

According to Odaily Planet Daily, Ripple added support for the Machine Payments Protocol, or MPP, and open wallet standards in version 1.1 of the XRP Ledger AI Starter Kit, enabling AI agents to use XRP and RLUSD to pay for online services such as data and computing resources. MPP was jointly developed by Stripe and Tempo. RippleX said the goal is to make XRP and RLUSD first-class options for developers building AI-agent payment applications. The software remains in testing, and no commercial customers or payment volumes using MPP integrations have been disclosed. Stablecoins currently support one-time payments only.

Security Alert

The FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center, or IC3, issued another warning on September 17 about widespread scams impersonating law enforcement agencies or government officials. Scammers may spoof phone numbers, email addresses, employee names, and identification documents, then contact victims by phone, text message, or email claiming there is an urgent issue involving an account, investigation, or assets and demanding payment through cryptocurrency, prepaid cards, or other methods. From January 2025 through July 2026, IC3 received nearly 61,000 related complaints with reported losses exceeding $1.6 billion. The FBI emphasized that law enforcement and government agencies will not demand cryptocurrency payments by phone or text. Users receiving such messages should stop any transfer, avoid verifying the claim through contact details provided by the sender, independently confirm the identity through an agency’s official website, and preserve wallet addresses, transaction records, and communications as evidence.
