'100% in': Eyebrows raised as Hunter Biden challenges Trump's eldest sons to cage match

Hunter Biden threw down the gauntlet on Thursday, challenging Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump to a cage match, and making clear he doesn't need anyone's permission to show up.

"I told him I'd do it — 100% in if he can pull it off. And if he can't, I'm still coming," Biden said in a video shared on conservative social media commentator Andrew Callaghan's Channel 5 Instagram. Callaghan had called him about organizing the bout.

It wasn't immediately clear if the match would happen.

The challenge comes at a particularly colorful moment in American political history, as the White House simultaneously plans its own fight night featuring professional UFC fighters on June 14 as part of America's 250th birthday celebrations.

Reuters noted that earlier eras of American politics featured violent confrontations between political figures, most notably the 1804 duel between Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton, which ended in Hamilton's death.

The potential throw down caught the internet's attention, with fiery Trump spokesman Steven Cheung chiming in on X, "Hunter wouldn’t even be able to pass a p--- test."

Musical artist Justin Whang joked, "Been saying for awhile that this is how elections should be decided."

Democratic strategist Chris D. Jackson added, "Hunter would beat the brakes off of them."

Political analyst and radio host Mark Bland wrote on X, "This is ridiculous. I definitely would watch if any of the Trumps were serious."
