Former Battle on the Beach co-host Alison Victoria says one stray word may have cost her a return ticket to HGTV's seaside design competition.

In a new interview with the Daily Mail published May 15, Victoria, 44, claimed she was passed over for the show's revived fifth season because she announced last year on her Pap Smear Podcast that the series had been "canceled" — when she should have said "not renewed."

"Now, that word should not have been used," Victoria admitted. "I should've said 'not renewed.' That's the language that I should have used." She blamed her unfiltered podcast format, saying, "There's no editing. It's just conversation. I don't have notes."

HGTV announced on May 11 that Battle on the Beach is returning with Ty Pennington back as host, joined by newcomers Mika Kleinschmidt and Sarah Baeumler — leaving Victoria and Taniya Nayak out, according to People. Victoria said Nayak broke the news, and she replied, "I expected that."

Now busy with Sin City Rehab, Scariest House in America and Ugliest House in America, Victoria added: "Part of me hopes that maybe they didn't ask me back because they knew I didn't have time."
