Microsoft 365 Recovers After Widespread Outage

If you’re one of the 17,000 users that had been grappling with Microsoft 365 outages, there’s great news for you.

On Thursday, Microsoft confirmed that a disruption affecting its Microsoft 365 productivity suite has been resolved, per Reuters.

The company traced the issue to a misconfiguration in part of its network infrastructure in North America. Earlier, users had reported difficulties accessing Teams and Exchange Online.

At the height of the incident, Downdetector — which aggregates user reports of service outages — logged as many as 17,000 reports. By 5:38 p.m. ET, that number had dropped to just 136 reports.
