The Boys spinoff series Gen V wraps up its second season this week. Read on to find out what time the eighth and final episode of the season begins streaming and more.
Gen V Season 2 kicked off a new season of Gen V on Sept. 17 with a three-episode premiere. The summary for Gen V Season 2 reads, “School is back in session. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander’s iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean, Cipher (Hamish Linklater), preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever.
“Cate (Maddie Phillips) and Sam (Asa German) are celebrated heroes, while Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Jordan (London Thor) and Emma (Lizzie Broadway) reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it.”
Without question, the biggest development to come out of Gen V Season 2, Episode 7, titled Hell Week, was a major twist — which won’t be spoiled here — involving Cipher.
Gen V’s Season 2 finale episode will begin streaming on Prime Video on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 3 a.m. PT/12 a.m. ET.
For viewers who don’t have Prime Video, it can be accessed through an Amazon Prime subscription, which costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year. Viewers can also get a Prime Video-only subscription, which costs $8.99 per month.
Prime Video is an ad-based streaming service, but subscribers can get ad-free programming for an extra $2 per month.

How Have Critics Received ‘Gen V’ Season 2 So Far?
Gen V Season 2 has earned a 91% “fresh” rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics based on 44% reviews.
The RT Critics Consensus for the new season reads, “Tastefully navigating the tragic loss of Chance Pedromo while getting a big boost from Hamish Linklater’s villainous turn, Gen V‘s sophomore season gets high marks as a spinoff that feels essential.”
Audiences, meanwhile, have given Gen V Season 2 a 70% “fresh” score on RT’s Popcornmeter based on 250-plus verified user ratings.
By contrast, Gen V Season 1, which was released in September of 2023, earned a 97% “fresh” rating from RT critics based on 114 reviews, while audiences gave the season a 77% “fresh” score on RT’s Popcornmeter based on 1,000-plus verified user ratings.
While viewer information for the entirety of Gen V Season 2 is still on the way, the show got off to a great start with its new episodes on Sept. 17. According to the Nielsen Ratings (via The Wrap), the series for the week of Sept. 15 earned its biggest streaming audience to date with 424 million minutes viewed.
