  • Shiba Inu to add full on-chain privacy to Shibarium by Q2 2026.
  • Zama’s FHE tech brings encrypted smart contract execution to the network.
  • TokenPlay AI partnership expands SHIB utility with AI-driven gaming rewards.

Shiba Inu has outlined a major shift in its ecosystem by confirming a full privacy upgrade for Shibarium and announcing a new partnership with an AI gaming company. The team shared a clear timeline for the upgrade and revealed new tools that will expand SHIB’s utility. These developments signal a stronger focus on security, encrypted execution, and wider ecosystem growth.

In an X post, one prominent Shiba Inu representative, Lucie, said that Shibarium would achieve full on-chain privacy by the second quarter of 2026. She affirmed that cryptography company Zama will incorporate its encryption infrastructure in the network.

The system operates on Fully Homomorphic Encryption that gives smart contracts a chance to run on encrypted data without exposing the actual data. This privacy paradigm provides safe communication and ensures protection of user information.

Zama Testnet Goes Live as Shibarium Prepares for Wider Privacy Expansion

The upgrade comes after recent security enhancements to Shibarium since the network was hacked. The team enhanced the system to avoid future attacks. Lucie posted a picture indicating that the public testnet by Zama is currently alive on the Ethereum Sepolia network. Zama is set to be deployed on the mainnet of Ethereum by the end of this year, according to the roadmap.

By the first half of 2026, Zama will expand its tools to allow it to add chains that are EVM-compatible. Solana will have a separate deployment before the end of 2026. These step-by-step integrations would enable Shibarium to transition to a more privacy-oriented blockchain chain that supports encrypted transactions and contract interactions.

The announcement coincides with a surge in developer activity within the ecosystem. In July, Shiba Inu released updates to its Shibarium developer hub. These updates enhanced documentation and tools, leading to increased daily transactions and involvement by more developers.

Shiba Inu Expands SHIB Utility Through New TokenPlay AI Partnership

Shiba Inu announced the collaboration with TokenPlay AI. This partnership aims to enhance the role of SHIB in gaming and digital engagement. TokenPlay AI will develop an interactive application with Shiba as a theme and combine this with AI-integrated gameplay and reward structures connected to SHIB. The app will open new interaction possibilities and assist in diversifying the practical applications of the token.

TokenPlay AI was developed by Astra Nova with the help of NVIDIA and AGI research groups. The platform will collaborate with Alibaba Cloud to provide scalable infrastructure to Web3 developers. In this collaboration, creators would be able to access tools that enable them to create basic apps and games in a few seconds without writing a single line of code.

Combined with the privacy upgrade and AI gaming collaboration, the drive by Shiba Inu to widen functionality and enhance the ecosystem security is apparent. The project will focus on improving the capacity of Shibarium as well as creating new utility channels for SHIB holders.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…
