OPay opens new Ibadan office as it deepens nationwide expansion

OPay has launched a new office in Ibadan as part of its initiative to expand its physical support centres nationwide. The facility aims to enhance service delivery for merchants, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), corporate clients, and millions of users in Oyo State. The opening event gathered business leaders, partners, agents, and officials from across the fintech network.

The Ibadan office is the first fully upgraded branch under OPay’s new renovation initiative. The company currently operates 28 offices across 25 states, and the redesigned Ibadan centre reflects the new standard that all its locations will adopt over the next year. This new facility will serve as a strategic hub for customer support, merchant engagement, and product demonstrations.

At the event, OPay executives stated that the launch aligns with the company’s goal of providing safe, secure, and accessible financial services to all users, whether they prefer online support or in-person interactions.

Strengthening access to financial services

OPay’s Chief Commercial Officer, Elizabeth Wang, announced that the company opened its upgraded office in Ibadan to better serve customers who prefer in-person visits. She noted that while most transactions are done online, many Nigerians still prefer visiting a branch for specific issues. The renovated office aims to meet this need and provide a consistent service experience.

Wang mentioned that the Ibadan office is the first of several remodelled branches set to launch across the country. She highlighted that OPay already has a significant presence in Nigeria, but this new standard is intended to demonstrate the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction and secure financial solutions.

OPay executives stated that the new office will improve user connection, with Head of Partnerships Odiase Ikponmwosa adding that it will enhance customer engagement and the quality of feedback.

Impact on customers and the broader ecosystem

The new OPay center in Ibadan is designed to help users and merchants solve problems more quickly. This is especially helpful for those who need in-person assistance for their businesses. OPay also says the center will make it easier to sign up small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), improve services for merchants, and offer a place to try out products.
