I suppose I’m surprised that Loki is being considered an actual Avenger now, as I thought he may be outside of all this potentially on his own team. Shang-Chi also seemed like he could be an external force with his own goals and motivations. Conversely, you would think Shuri’s Black Panther would be an Avenger, given that her brother was. It really is crazy to see an Avengers team without Iron Man, OG Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow or Hawkeye. Of course, there are without question going to be surprises that Marvel will trot out over the course of the film, as if you think they revealed the entire cast of characters and appearances in their chairs, that would be a bit naïve. It’s possible that some characters like Hulk and Spider-Man remain outside of all this (Hulk is rumored to be in the Spider-Man movie). It’s not impossible they could call up someone like fan-favorite Daredevil. Some fans are dying to see (not evil) Scarlet Witch return. Or…who knows, there are a lot of Marvel characters, both who have been and not been in the MCU.
I am iffy on how Doomsday is going to go here with this cast and whatever they’re planning with Robert Downey Jr. My guess is that all those X-Men are going to be in a smaller “multiverse” scene rather than threaded through the entire movie, but we’ll have to see. We’re all wondering who’s missing too, of course.
