Best Billing Software for Businesses (2026): QuickBooks Recognized for Simple Invoicing and Payments by Expert Consumers

NEW YORK, Jan. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Expert Consumers has recognized QuickBooks as the best billing software for businesses in 2026. The designation reflects QuickBooks’ continued focus on simplifying invoicing, streamlining payment collection, and helping businesses maintain more predictable cash flow through automation and integrated financial tools.

Best Billing Software for Businesses

  • QuickBooks – an accounting and billing software platform that helps businesses manage invoicing, payments, bookkeeping, and cash flow in one integrated system

As businesses of all sizes contend with rising administrative workloads and increasing pressure to improve cash flow visibility, billing and payments have emerged as a critical operational area. Expert Consumers’ review examined how billing platforms support faster payments, reduce manual effort, and provide clarity for both businesses and their customers. QuickBooks stood out for consolidating invoicing, payment processing, and bookkeeping into a single workflow designed to minimize friction at each step.

Addressing a Persistent Small Business Challenge

Late payments and manual follow-ups remain common challenges for small and midsize businesses. Many still rely on disconnected systems for invoicing, payment acceptance, and accounting, which can lead to delays, errors, and inconsistent cash flow forecasting. According to information reviewed by Expert Consumers, QuickBooks’ invoicing and payments tools are structured to address these gaps by reducing back-and-forth with customers and automating routine billing tasks.

QuickBooks’ invoicing system allows businesses to create and send invoices that customers can pay online immediately, which can significantly shorten the time between billing and payment compared to paper invoices. The platform also supports recurring invoices, progress invoicing, and milestone-based billing, helping businesses manage both one-time services and long-term projects more effectively.

Automation Designed to Improve Payment Timelines

A key factor in Expert Consumers’ evaluation was QuickBooks’ use of automation to support faster and more reliable payments. The platform’s Payments Agent monitors payment behavior and helps identify inconsistent payment patterns, enabling businesses to send timely reminders without manually tracking outstanding invoices. QuickBooks reports that businesses using automated invoice reminders get paid faster on average, underscoring the role automation can play in improving cash flow consistency.

Real-time invoice alerts further enhance visibility. Businesses can see when an invoice has been viewed and receive notifications when payment is completed, reducing uncertainty and the need for follow-up emails or calls. These features are available through both desktop and mobile access, allowing users to manage invoicing activity from the app as well as the web.

Flexible Invoicing for Different Business Models

Expert Consumers also noted the flexibility of QuickBooks’ billing tools across industries and service models. Businesses can personalize invoices using free templates, add logos and brand colors, and generate tailored invoices quickly using QuickBooks’ invoice generator. For service-based businesses, billable hours can be automatically added to invoices through integrations with tools such as Google Calendar, reducing manual time tracking.

For project-based work, QuickBooks’ progress invoicing features allow businesses to split estimates into multiple invoices tied to milestones, stages, or percentages of completion. The platform automatically tracks how much has been invoiced, paid, and remains outstanding, reducing the risk of billing errors and improving transparency for clients. Batch invoicing further supports businesses that need to generate multiple invoices from a single data entry.

Integrated Payments and Bookkeeping

Another area highlighted in the recognition was QuickBooks’ integration of payments and accounting. When customers pay through QuickBooks, transactions are automatically recorded and matched, helping keep books organized without additional reconciliation steps. This integration reduces administrative overhead and supports more accurate, up-to-date financial records throughout the year.

QuickBooks Payments supports multiple payment methods, including cards, ACH, Apple Pay, PayPal, and Venmo, allowing businesses to offer customers flexible ways to pay. Payment dispute protection is also included, with coverage available for chargebacks up to defined annual and per-dispute limits, adding an additional layer of financial protection for businesses processing card payments.

Supporting Predictable Cash Flow

Expert Consumers’ recognition reflects the broader role billing software plays in business stability. Features such as recurring invoices, partial payment tracking, and clear visibility into what has been paid versus what is still owed help businesses better anticipate revenue and plan operations. Customers can also see invoice histories and payment progress, which can reduce confusion and improve trust.

By keeping invoicing, payments, and tracking in one place, QuickBooks reduces the fragmentation that often slows billing cycles. This approach aligns with a growing trend toward unified financial platforms that prioritize efficiency, transparency, and automation over manual processes.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…
