Roblox has announced the beta launch of 4D generation through its Cube AI foundation model, introducing a new creation capability that allows developers and players to generate interactive and fully functional in-game objects directly from text prompts.
The update represents an expansion of Roblox’s existing 3D generation tools by adding built-in behaviors and logic, enabling objects to move, respond, and operate inside live experiences rather than remaining static assets.
The 4D system is based on predefined structural rules, known as schemas, which break down objects into component parts and automatically assign behaviors to each element. Once activated within a game, users can create usable items such as vehicles or other interactive objects that immediately function in the environment.
Roblox stated that this approach is intended to support more dynamic gameplay and to give creators new ways to incorporate player-driven content into their experiences.
Early testing has shown practical use of the technology in live titles. In the experimental game Wish Master, players have been able to generate functional objects such as cars, aircraft, and fantasy creatures through text-based requests. According to Roblox, early access testing resulted in more than 160,000 generated objects, while players who used 4D generation spent more time in the game on average.
During the beta phase, 4D generation focuses on creating objects directly within active experiences using a limited number of schemas, including a multi-part vehicle structure and a single-mesh object format.
These schemas define how objects are assembled and ensure that generated components, such as wheels or moving parts, behave correctly through adaptive scripts that adjust to each object’s size and shape.
Roblox said it plans to expand the system to support a much broader range of schemas capable of representing thousands of real-world objects. The company also indicated that 4D generation forms part of a wider strategy to evolve its creation platform through artificial intelligence, including research into real-time world generation and future tools that would allow creators to design environments, test gameplay, and collaborate using natural language.
