Paradise, starring Sterling K. Brown, James Marsden and Julianne Nicholson, released its eighth and final episode for its second season on Monday on a cliffhanger.

A post-apocalyptic sci-fi series created by Dan Fogelman (This is Us), Paradise premiered on Hulu on Jan. 26, 2025, with Season 1, which consisted of eight episodes. The series returned with the first three of its eight-episode second season on Feb. 23.

Note: Spoilers for Paraadise Seasons 1 and 2 are revealed throughout the rest of this article.

Paradise Season 1 find U.S. Secret Service Agent Xavier Brooks (Brown) investigating the mysterious death of former U.S. President Cal Brooks (Marsden) in Paradise — a massive city-sized bunker built completely under a Colorado mountain. Paradise was constructed to keep part of humanity intact after a super volcano set off a catastrophic chain of events including a monstrous tsunamis and nuclear conflicts all around the globe.

At the end of Season 1, Xavier, upon discovering who killed the president, also learns from Paradise’s most powerful leader Sinatra (Nicholson) that people survived the apocalyptic events of what is called “The Day” three years earlier, including his wife, Teri (Enuka Okuma).

While Season 1 of Paradise largely took place within the underground city, Season 2 – which is streaming on Hulu on Disney+ — examines life outside for the survivors of The Day and how they are thriving. Xavier, meanwhile, is headed to Atlanta where he believes he will find Teri alive.

Paradise Season 2 also introduces the characters Annie (Shailene Woodley), a resourceful Graceland tour guide in Memphis who survives The Day in a bunker deep within Elvis Presley’s former abode; and Link (Thomas Doherty), the leader of a group of survivors intent on finding Paradise in Colorado to exact revenge in a storyline that develops throughout the season.

Paradise Season 2 — without revealing too many major spoilers — ends with a mass exodus from the underground city and Xavier being tasked to locate a quantum supercomputer powered by artificial intelligence that has the power to manipulate time. As such, the AI supercomputer may help find a way to avert the disaster that befell Paradise in the Season 2 finale.

Given that the conclusion of Paradise Season 2 leaves the door wide open for the series to continue, fans of the series will be happy to know that Paradise Season 3 is on the way.

“In my initial pitch, I told people, ‘The second season is going to end with the bunker failing and the collapse of the whole infrastructure,’” Fogelman told the Los Angeles Times on Monday. “That was a lot to figure out: How are we going to pull that off? How is that going to send us forward into the third season? It was big and daunting.”

‘Paradise’ Was Renewed For Season 3 In Mid-March

While the creators of most series must await the news of whether their show will be renewed as viewership numbers are examine, Dan Fogelman received the good news on March 17 that Paradise got the green light for Season 3.

News of the renewal in mid-March came with some impressive viewership statistics, according to Deadline. Not only did the new season two weeks before its finale already amass up 30 million viewing hours, Paradise Season 1 also logged an additional 25 million viewing hours.

Fogelman told the LA Times that he doesn’t have plans beyond Paradise Season 3 because three seasons is all he’s ever planned for the show.

Asked by the LA Times how he will react if there’s pressure to produce more seasons of Paradise beyond Season 3, Fogelman responded, “There is always pressure. But I try to resist the pressure because I think it’s the right way to tell the story. Sterling feels similarly. I was very clear from the beginning that I had a three-season plan. I don’t imagine a world where I would shift that plan. And, frankly, what we do in Season 3 doesn’t leave room for it.”

All 16 episodes of Paradise Seasons 1 and 2 are streaming exclusively on Hulu on Disney+.

Ondo Finance Launches USDY Yieldcoin on Stellar, Bringing Tokenized U.S. Treasuries to Users

Ondo Finance, a U.S.-based digital asset firm specializing in bringing traditional financial products on-chain through tokenization, is expanding its yieldcoin USDY to the Stellar network. This lates update marks a step forward in merging tokenized real-world assets with a global payments infrastructure, unlocking new opportunities for users worldwide. The announcement was made at the Stellar Meridian event in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, on September 17. USDY Joins the Stellar Ecosystem Ondo Finance, a recognized leader in tokenized real-world assets, announced the deployment of United States Dollar Yield (USDY) on Stellar, the payments-focused blockchain known for speed and low transaction costs. USDY is the most widely available “yieldcoin,” offering investors access to onchain assets backed by U.S. Treasuries. This launch allows Stellar’s global user base to tap into permissionless, yield-bearing assets tied to one of the safest financial instruments in the world. It also aligns with Stellar’s mission of driving fast, affordable cross-border payments. Combining Yield with Payments Infrastructure “Stablecoins unlocked global access to the U.S. dollar. With USDY, we’re taking the next step by bringing U.S. Treasuries onchain in a form that combines stability, liquidity, and yield,” said Ian De Bode, Chief Strategy Officer at Ondo Finance. “Fast, affordable cross-border payments are at the center of what Stellar was designed to do. The global reach of the Stellar ecosystem combined with a yield-bearing asset like USDY levels up what is possible onchain, allowing wallets and businesses to offer yield opportunities to their users,” said Denelle Dixon, CEO of the Stellar Development Foundation. Ondo claims by pairing USDY with Stellar’s infrastructure, new possibilities open up in treasury management, collateralization, and everyday financial applications. Unlocking Institutional and Retail Use Cases USDY currently manages over $650 million in total value locked (TVL) across nine blockchains and offers a 5.3% APY. By launching on Stellar, Ondo Finance extends these benefits to global retail and institutional users. The firm explains balances on Stellar can now become productive, supporting use cases such as onchain savings, institutional treasury strategies, cost-efficient collateral for DeFi protocols, and remittance flows that carry yield rather than remaining static. A Milestone for Tokenized Treasuries With the integration of USDY, Stellar users gain more than just access to stable-value assets—they gain access to institutional-grade yield. For investors outside the U.S., the launch represents a new way to combine the safety of Treasuries with the accessibility of blockchain technology. As tokenization accelerates globally, Ondo Finance’s decision to deploy USDY on Stellar reinforces the narrative that blockchain is not just about speculation, but about reimagining the global financial system through secure, yield-bearing digital assets
