As Disney’s term as the American Formula 1 broadcast rights holder comes to a close, Formula 1 has already announced a succession plan.

Apple TV, which produced the hit movie “Formula 1” earlier this year, will take over as the sport’s official American broadcast partner beginning in 2026. The five-year deal marks a significant shift for Formula 1, which previously partnered with NBC prior to having races air on ESPN. To have all practice, qualifying, sprints and grand prix on a direct-to-consumer platform shows the shift in Americans’ TV watching habits.

Formula 1 said a handful of races, as well as all practices, each year will be free to watch.

Apple TV reportedly has over 45 million subscribers, according to an early 2025 report. Apple’s “Formula 1” movie has grossed $630 million thus far in 2025.

“We’re thrilled to expand our relationship with Formula 1 and offer Apple TV subscribers in the U.S. front row access to one of the most exciting and fastest-growing sports on the planet,” Eddy Cue, Apple‘s Senior Vice President of Services, said. “2026 marks a transformative new era for Formula 1 from new teams to new regulations and cars with the best drivers in the world, and we look forward to delivering premium and innovative fan-first coverage to our customers in a way that only Apple can.”

Though official numbers were not released, the Daily Mail is reporting Apple has agreed to a $140 million per year deal with Formula 1, an increase from ESPN’s $85 million per year.

ESPN is largely responsible for Formula 1’s growth in America, with races averaging 1.4 million viewers.

Apple TV currently costs $12.99 per month and is ad-free. The 2026 Formula 1 season begins with the Australian Grand Prix from March 6-8.

Circle announced that its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) V2 is coming to the Stellar network, improving interoperability for USDC, the world’s leading regulated stablecoin. The upgrade will allow users to seamlessly transfer USDC between Stellar and more than 15 other blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, and Base, unlocking deeper liquidity and wider use cases for the Stellar ecosystem. Seamless Cross-Chain Liquidity Historically, users faced challenges when moving USDC across different blockchains, often relying on custodial bridges or Circle accounts. Liquidity was fragmented, making it difficult to dynamically manage assets between ecosystems. With CCTP V2, Stellar becomes natively interoperable with every other CCTP-enabled blockchain. This integration allows USDC liquidity to flow freely, providing exchanges, wallets, and DeFi protocols with more efficient access. For decentralized exchanges (DEXs), this means better rates for traders, while centralized exchanges (CEXs) can consolidate liquidity rather than maintaining isolated pools. Eliminating Bridge Risk with Native Transfers A key innovation of CCTP V2 is its 1:1 burning and minting process. Instead of relying on wrapped tokens or custodial intermediaries, USDC is burned on the source chain and minted natively on the destination chain. This model eliminates bridge risk, improves transaction security, and ensures settlement can occur in seconds. For users and businesses, this means simpler, safer, and faster movement of capital across chains. The efficiency of this model also boosts confidence for institutions that require predictable liquidity and compliance-grade infrastructure. Strengthening Stellar’s Global Payments Role The Stellar network already powers global payments with low fees, near-instant settlement, and a network of 475,000+ MoneyGram locations for fiat on- and off-ramps.
