Kalshi Seeks $1 Billion Funding at a $40 Billion Valuation, With Sequoia Capital and Wellington Management in Talks to Lead
According to Bitcoin.com News, prediction market operator Kalshi is in talks to raise $1 billion at a target valuation of $40 billion. Existing investors Sequoia Capital and Wellington Management are discussing leading the round, while Tiger Global and Dragoneer Investment Group are also involved in the talks. The financing has not yet been completed, and the final investor list and closing date have not been disclosed. Kalshi previously raised $300 million at a $5 billion valuation in October 2025 and completed a $1 billion financing round at a $22 billion valuation in May 2026.
Zano Completes 30-Day Blockchain Rollback and Deploys Hotfix, Network Now Stable on Updated Chain
According to Bitcoin.com News, privacy blockchain Zano said it has deployed a hotfix addressing the inflation vulnerability that occurred last Friday, and the network is now operating stably on the updated chain. The project previously rolled its blockchain state back to block height 3,833,000, removing 30 days of confirmed transaction records. Third-party wallets, exchanges, and payment providers must update their nodes before safely resuming transfers of ZANO and Zano-issued assets. ZANO has fallen 32% this week and 40.6% since the start of 2026, while recovery procedures for affected users are still being prepared.
Coinbase Expands Crypto-Backed Lending, Adds HYPE and ZEC With Loans of Up to $100,000
According to Odaily Planet Daily, Coinbase has expanded its crypto-backed lending service by adding HYPE and ZEC as supported collateral. Eligible users can borrow instantly without selling the underlying assets, with a maximum loan amount of $100,000. The service is currently mainly offered to U.S. users, excluding New York, and is powered by decentralized lending protocol Morpho on the Base network. The expansion gives Coinbase users more options to access liquidity from their crypto holdings while further connecting a centralized platform interface with on-chain lending infrastructure.
HANetf Launches World’s First Euro-Hedged Bitcoin ETC, With FX Hedging Provided by HSBC
According to WSJ, European ETF and ETC platform HANetf has launched the Arrow Bitcoin EUR Hedged ETC (EBTC), which HANetf says is the world’s first Bitcoin ETC offering euro currency hedging. The product is designed for euro-denominated investors seeking Bitcoin price exposure while reducing the impact of EUR/USD exchange-rate fluctuations on returns. The currency hedging is provided by HSBC, allowing investors to focus more directly on Bitcoin price movements while limiting additional volatility from foreign-exchange fluctuations.
Stride Chain to Shut Down, stToken Redemptions to Move to Osmosis
According to Odaily Planet Daily, Cosmos ecosystem liquid staking protocol Stride has announced plans to wind down the Stride chain in an orderly manner. Users can redeem stToken through Stride until October 12, after which redemptions will be paused. Once the underlying staked assets complete their unlock period, redemption pools are expected to launch on Osmosis around November 20. Assets including stATOM and stOSMO will migrate to Osmosis Transmuter pools and be redeemed at fixed ratios. Stride said its reserves are limited and, at the current burn rate, are expected to be depleted by February 2027.
Zcash Developers Bring Tachyon Code Into Zakura Common, Targeting More Than 50,000 Private Payments per Second
According to CoinDesk, Zcash developers are integrating parts of the Tachyon scaling project into the Zakura Common cryptography library, with a new component called Udon released on Monday. Tachyon’s long-term goal is to combine proofs from multiple transactions into a single proof, reducing the amount of data Zcash nodes need to receive and verify, while ultimately targeting more than 50,000 private payments per second. The upgrade has not yet been activated on the Zcash network. ZecStats data shows that in the seven days through September 28, transactions involving shielded funds averaged around 6,200 per day, down from about 11,700 per day in the previous seven-day period.
Robinhood Wallet Launches Gas-Free Swaps on Robinhood Chain Through Year-End
According to Odaily Planet Daily, Robinhood Crypto announced that Robinhood Wallet users can make Swap transactions worth more than $0.50 on Robinhood Chain without paying Gas fees. The promotion will run through December 31, 2026. The Gas-free mechanism directly reduces transaction costs for smaller on-chain swaps and further strengthens the usage loop between Robinhood Wallet and Robinhood Chain. If contacted in this way, users should independently verify the caller through official channels, avoid calling back numbers supplied by the person contacting them, and never transfer crypto assets to unfamiliar wallet addresses. If losses have already occurred, users should stop further transfers and report the incident to IC3.
