MEXC costs less than MGBX on a leveraged BTC trade: opening and closing 20,000 USDT of BTC perpetuals at market, a 200x position on 100 USDT of margin, costs 8 USDT on MEXC and 20 USDT on MGBX.
That is 8% of the margin against 20%, though MGBX's published rates beat MEXC's API schedule for bots.

Key Takeaways
  • For manual high-leverage traders MEXC is our pick: a 200x BTC position on 100 USDT of margin costs 8 USDT to open and close at market there, against 20 USDT on MGBX.
  • Futures fees are charged on the full position, not the margin, so at 200x MGBX's 0.05% taker takes 20% of the margin on one round trip and MEXC's 0.02% takes 8%.
  • MGBX's fees, 0.1% on spot and 0.03% maker with 0.05% taker on futures, come from three independent reviews, since we found no official MGBX fee page.
  • MGBX publishes leverage of up to 200x, while MEXC offers 500x on BTCUSDT and ETHUSDT outside ten regions; at 200x a move of about 0.5% can liquidate a position.
  • MGBX, which says it started in 2019 as Megabit, has no CoinGecko listing and no regulator notice in our scan, while MEXC scores 9 out of 10 on CoinGecko and has notices on record from the Seychelles FSA and Dubai's VARA.
  • Automated trading reverses the ranking: MEXC charges API futures orders 0.06% maker and 0.08% taker, above MGBX's published 0.03% and 0.05%.

A 100 USDT margin at 200x controls a 20,000 USDT position, and every exchange charges its futures fee on that full 20,000.
At a 0.05% taker, opening and closing at market costs 20 USDT, a fifth of the margin spent before the trade has made anything.
In the MGBX vs MEXC matchup below, we measure that bite at four leverage levels before turning to fee lines, leverage caps and the public record on each exchange.

How Much of a 200x Margin Goes to Fees on MGBX and on MEXC?

One round trip at market takes 20 USDT, or 20% of a 100 USDT margin, on MGBX and 8 USDT, or 8%, on MEXC, for a 20,000 USDT BTC perpetual.
The gap in percentage points shrinks as leverage falls, but MGBX's bill stays two and a half times MEXC's at every level.
High-leverage traders size positions by margin, so a fee charged on the full notional feels far larger than its headline rate.
On MEXC the rate depends on the contract, and BTCUSDT carries 0.02% for takers and 0% for makers.
We read the BTCUSDT rates from the MEXC fee page on September 10, 2026; the page adds that pricing differs in certain regions and during some promotions.
Put 100 USDT of margin behind a 200x BTC long, which makes a 20,000 USDT position, and use market orders to enter and exit.
MGBX's 0.05% taker costs 10 USDT on each side, 20 USDT in all, which is 20% of the margin.
MEXC's 0.02% costs 4 USDT on each side, 8 USDT in all, or 8% of the margin.
Hold the position at 20,000 USDT and lower the leverage, and the share falls: 10% against 4% at 100x, 5% against 2% at 50x and 1% against 0.4% at 10x.
Leverage, not the exchange, drives that share: the same 20,000 USDT position opened at 500x on MEXC needs 40 USDT of margin, and its 8 USDT round trip is again 20% of it.
Liquidation also moves closer as leverage rises, since a price move of roughly 0.5% against you can liquidate a 200x position and about 0.2% a 500x one, before fees and funding are counted.

The MEXC View

This comparison comes from MEXC, so read what follows as our argument, starting with where MGBX holds its own.
Its published futures rates sit close to the lowest flat rates among large exchanges, the schedule has no tiers to work through, and it offers copy trading and a rewards program.
Our case is the fee on the positions high-leverage traders actually open: 0.02% against 0.05% on BTCUSDT takers, 0% against 0.03% on makers, and a documented 500x tier for those who want it.
The honest counterweights are MEXC's own regulatory record, which the trust section lays out, and an API schedule that leaves bots paying more here than at MGBX's published rates.
What this page does not cover about MEXC, from coin range to the catch in its headline, sits in our MEXC review.

How Do MGBX and MEXC Line Up Across Six Dimensions?

Each row follows our review methodology, with MGBX's figures from the independent reviews behind our alternatives guide, checked on August 10, 2026, and MEXC's from its fee page and CoinGecko.
Where MGBX has no verifiable figure, the cell says so instead of guessing.

Which Fee Line Applies to You: Maker, Taker or API?

For most manual traders it is the taker line, where MGBX's 0.05% compares with 0.02% on MEXC's BTCUSDT, while resting orders pay 0.03% on MGBX and nothing on BTCUSDT at MEXC.
Orders sent through MEXC's API follow a separate and higher schedule, which changes the answer for bots.
MEXC's June 2026 API update set API futures orders at 0.06% maker and 0.08% taker, above both of MGBX's published futures rates.
Other MEXC pairs can also cost more than BTCUSDT, since the fee page lists futures rates from 0.000% to 0.040% maker and 0.000% to 0.100% taker depending on the contract.
Traders weighing a third venue can check the rankings in our lowest futures fees comparison, which covers more schedules than this page.

How Much Leverage Does Each Offer, and How Close Is Liquidation?

MGBX publishes up to 200x and MEXC up to 500x on BTCUSDT and ETHUSDT, and at those caps a price move of about 0.5% or 0.2% against a position can wipe out its margin.
Higher caps widen the choice, not the safety margin.
MEXC's April 23, 2025 announcement limits 500x to BTCUSDT and ETHUSDT, excludes ten regions including the United Kingdom and Canada, and keeps copy trading out of that tier.
Four other USDT pairs go to 250x under the same announcement.
Our highest leverage exchanges test found that only two platforms back a 500x claim with documentation.

What Do Trackers, Sources and Regulators Show for MGBX and MEXC?

Very little on MGBX: CoinGecko does not list it, its fees rest on reviews rather than an official page and our scan found no regulator notice, while MEXC scores 9 out of 10 on CoinGecko and has two regulator notices on record.
Missing data is not proof of a problem, but it leaves less to check.
CoinGecko's exchange ranking did not include MGBX when we checked on August 10, 2026, and our September 24, 2026 search turned up no CoinGecko exchange page for it, so there is no Trust Score, tracked volume or reserve figure to compare.
MGBX's own August 2025 announcement says it was founded in April 2019 as Megabit and adopted its current name in 2025, which is why reviews date it to either year.
The reviews we checked name no operating company or home jurisdiction for MGBX.
MEXC scored 9 out of 10 on CoinGecko on September 24, 2026, with about 618 million USD in tracked reserves and public proof-of-reserve reports.
Two regulators have acted on MEXC: the Seychelles FSA, whose May 26, 2026 press release found its operating company unlicensed and began enforcement, and Dubai's VARA, which issued a notice of fines on June 22, 2026 over unlicensed service to local users and know-your-customer gaps.
Anyone keeping funds on MGBX should confirm fees, withdrawal limits and verification rules inside the app and size deposits to what the public record can confirm.

Who Should Choose MEXC, and Who Might Stay With MGBX?

MEXC suits manual traders who use high leverage on BTC and ETH, want a 0.02% taker or 0% maker on BTCUSDT, and prefer an exchange that trackers cover.
MGBX may suit traders who run bots at its published base rates, use its copy trading, or value a flat schedule with no tiers.
A small first test: open a BTCUSDT position of a few hundred USDT on MEXC at modest leverage and compare the fee in your trade history with 0.02% of the position size.
Six tracked alternatives, plus a checklist for vetting an exchange no tracker covers, are in our MGBX alternatives guide.
High-leverage futures of this kind are off the table for many readers in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia, who should look to locally authorised providers.
The regional notice at the bottom spells out MEXC's MiCA position, which matters to anyone living in the EU or EEA.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is MGBX cheaper than MEXC?
No, not for manual futures: MEXC's BTCUSDT charges 0% maker and 0.02% taker against MGBX's published 0.03% and 0.05%.
For bots, MGBX's published rates undercut MEXC's API schedule of 0.06% and 0.08%.

What does MGBX charge on futures and spot?
Three independent reviews list 0.03% maker and 0.05% taker on futures and 0.1% on spot.
We found no official MGBX fee page, so confirm the live rates in the app.

How much leverage does MGBX offer?
MGBX publishes a 200x cap, and at that level a price swing of roughly 0.5% is enough to wipe out the margin.
On MEXC, BTCUSDT and ETHUSDT go to 500x except in the ten regions its announcement excludes.

Does MGBX have a CoinGecko trust score?
No, CoinGecko did not list MGBX in its exchange ranking when we checked, so it has no Trust Score.
MEXC scored 9 out of 10 on September 24, 2026.

When was MGBX founded?
MGBX says it was founded in April 2019 as Megabit and renamed itself in 2025, per its own August 2025 announcement.
That is why some reviews give 2019 and others 2025.

Is MGBX safe?
There is little to verify, since CoinGecko does not track MGBX and our scan found no regulator notice about it.
CoinGecko rates MEXC 9 out of 10, and MEXC in turn has two regulator notices to weigh, from Seychelles and Dubai.

Can I move funds from MGBX to MEXC?
Yes, once your futures positions are closed, withdraw coins from MGBX to a MEXC deposit address, sending a small amount first to test the route.
Set up your MEXC account beforehand and copy the deposit address and network exactly.

Risk Warning and Regional Notice

Perpetual futures and leverage amplify both gains and losses, and positions can be liquidated for the full margin amount.
At 500x, a move of roughly 0.2% against a position can trigger liquidation, so high tiers suit only experienced traders with strict risk controls.
This article is informational for readers in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, where the platforms discussed may not be available or authorised.
In the EU and EEA, MEXC is not authorized under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).
The Dutch regulator AFM has placed MEXC on its register of non-compliant entities, which ESMA republishes, and readers in those regions should factor this status into any decision.
In a May 26, 2026 press release, the Seychelles Financial Services Authority said the company it identifies as operating the MEXC platform does not hold a licence under its Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024, that it is initiating enforcement measures, and that the public should exercise caution when dealing with the platform.
In a June 22, 2026 notice of fines, Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority said the entity operating as MEXC had served customers in Dubai without a licence from 2022 to April 2026 and onboarded users without meeting UAE know-your-customer requirements, and that it cooperated, complied with cease-and-desist orders and intends to seek a licence.
