Investors have trimmed US Dollar longs, awaiting speeches from Fed officials. In Switzerland, the SNB’s monetary policy decisions are likely to set the CHF’s near-term direction. The US Dollar rally against the Swiss franc was capped at 0.7970 on Monday, and the pair retreated to levels right below 0.7945 as market sentiment deteriorated during the European Session, with all eyes on a slew of Fed speakers due later today. Five Fed Governors are scheduled to give further details about the bank´s monetary policy plans. The main focus will be on the newest member, Stephen Miran, who is expected to delve into the reasons that prompted him to dissent from the committee and vote for a 50 basis points rate cut last week. These speeches will frame the Chairman Powell’s conference, due on Tuesday. The tone of Powell’s press release contrasted with the bank’s dovish projections and provided a fresh impulse to the US Dollar. Investors will be very attentive to his comments on Tuesday to corroborate their bets on back-to-back rate cuts. In Switzerland, the main focus is on the SNB’s monetary policy decision, due on Thursday. The bank is widely expected to leave its benchmark interest rate at 0%. The market will be eager to know the chances of cutting further into negative territory amid the recent weak macroeconomic data and the uncertainty around the trade relations with the US. RippleX Unveils XRPL DeFi Roadmap: Key Highlights Inside…

The post RippleX Unveils XRPL DeFi Roadmap: Key Highlights Inside… appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. RippleX has announced the next phase of its XRPL Institutional DeFi roadmap. The update focuses on compliance, lending, and privacy. It signals a clear push to bring regulated players on-chain. RippleX is Ripple’s developer and innovation arm. It supports the XRPL (XRP Ledger) ecosystem, funds projects, and develops features like tokenization and DeFi tooling. Roadmap Highlights The roadmap outlines three pillars for growth. First, compliance features like Credentials and Deep Freeze are already live. Second, a native lending protocol will launch with XRPL Version 3.0.0 later this year. Sponsored Sponsored Third, zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) integrations are in development. These will enable confidential transactions while keeping regulators satisfied. RippleX expects confidential Multi-Purpose Tokens (MPTs) in early 2026. RippleX XRPL Roadmap. Source: RippleX XRPL has recorded over $1 billion in monthly stablecoin volume. It now ranks in the top 10 chains for real-world asset activity. RippleX sees these milestones as proof that institutional DeFi is scaling fast. “This momentum underscores XRPL’s evolution into a leading blockchain for real-world finance. The ledger is increasingly positioned to power two of the most significant use cases in global markets today: stablecoin payments and collateral management, with tokenization providing the essential foundation. What began as an ambitious vision for regulated, on-chain finance is now rapidly becoming industry standard,” RippleX said in a press release shared with BeInCrypto. This shift mirrors what we have seen in tokenization markets. BeInCrypto recently reported on the US Department of Commerce’s plans to put macroeconomic data like GDP and PCE Index on the blockchain, highlighting growing mainstream adoption of digital assets. XRPL’s Multi-Purpose Token (MPT) standard is part of that same wave, aiming to give issuers tools for regulated on-chain finance. We also covered the rise of compliance-first DeFi platforms earlier this year. Ripple’s permissioned DEX launch was one example of…

Fed Governor Stephen Miran pushes case for central bank to slash key interest rate

Fed Governor Stephen Miran pushes case for central bank to slash key interest rate

The post Fed Governor Stephen Miran pushes case for central bank to slash key interest rate appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Stephen Miran, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, following a television interview outside the White House in Washington, DC, US, on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Aaron Schwartz | Bloomberg | Getty Images Less than a week after taking his seat, Federal Reserve Governor Stephen Miran on Monday outlined the reasons why he thinks the central bank’s benchmark interest rate is far too high and should be lowered aggressively. Changes in tax and immigration policy along with easing rental costs, deregulation and incoming revenue for tariffs are creating a different economic landscape that allow the Fed to cut its benchmark rate by nearly 2 percentage points from its current level, the central banker said in remarks before the Economic Club of New York. “The Federal Reserve has been entrusted with the important goal of promoting price stability for the good of all American households and businesses, and I am committed to bringing inflation sustainably back to 2 percent,” he said. “However, leaving policy restrictive by such a large degree brings significant risks for the Fed’s employment mandate.” Miran sees the confluence of policy changes from the White House lowering the neutral level of interest that neither restricts nor promotes growth. In remarks heavy with data and citations on theory and interest rate models such as the Taylor Rule, Miran said current monetary policy is significantly more restrictive than the prevailing attitude among his fellow policymakers. Using standard policy rules, Miran thinks the federal funds rate, a level that banks charge each other for overnight lending but that influences a wide variety of other rates, should be in the low-2% area. The current funds rate following last week’s reduction is targeted between 4%-4.25%. “The upshot is that monetary policy is well into restrictive territory,” he said. “Leaving short-term interest rates roughly…
