USDD is a digital currency designed to maintain price stability by remaining pegged to the US dollar. USDD targets a constant value of one US dollar through a stability mechanism designed to reduce the volatility commonly seen in assets such as Bitcoin. Its approach relies on holding reserve assets worth at least 200% of the total USDD supply as collateral. The reserves are structured like an openly viewable digital vault and include cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, TRX, and other stable digital currencies; the holdings can be checked online at any time for transparency. Governance and operational control reside with the TRON DAO Reserve, which functions similarly to a digital central bank and can implement measures such as adjusting interest rates, strategically buying or selling USDD, and imposing temporary lending limits during periods of market turbulence. The system also employs layered safeguards—including smart contracts and multi-signature protocols—to mitigate the risk of any single party influencing the currency, while real-time monitoring and automated stabilisation processes help maintain the peg.

USDD’s issuance and circulation follow a structured model that manages how tokens enter the market and how stability is maintained. The main path for minting new USDD is through authorised members who deposit TRX, after which that TRX is permanently locked in the system. A second route is provided by the Peg Stability Module (PSM), which lets users swap other stable digital currencies for USDD at a one-to-one rate, resembling conventional currency exchange but designed for higher efficiency and security. For durability over time, the protocol maintains a reserve of 999 billion USDD tokens; most of this amount stays locked and can only be released with multiple authorised signatures, adding protection and limiting centralised control. The economic framework includes automatic adjustments that react to market conditions while keeping operations transparent, and it provides regular public reporting on reserve levels and overall system performance to support user confidence.
