Bitcoin to Flip Gold’s $30T Market? CZs Prediction Sends Bitcoin Hyper Soaring

Changpeng Zhao (CZ) came out with another bold prediction yesterday, forecasting a long-awaited goal for Bitcoin maximalists: that Bitcoin would someday surpass gold as the ultimate store of value.

KEY POINTS:

➡️ Changpeng Zhao predicts Bitcoin will eventually flip gold’s market cap.

➡️ Bitcoin’s current market cap sits at $2.2T; gold reports nearly a $30M market cap.

➡️ For $BTC to reach gold’s market cap, the price of $BTC would need to reach nearly $1.5M.

➡️ Bitcoin Hyper’s Layer 2 upgrade for Bitcoin could provide an added incentive to Bitcoin’s rise.

That would be more than a mere milestone; Bitcoin wouldn’t be digital gold anymore, but gold would be physical Bitcoin.

Is CZ on to something, or is it another example of wistful thinking?

And if that day ever comes, what would it mean for Bitcoin and Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER), the pending Layer-2 upgrade?

The Size of the Challenge

Gold remains the world’s most valuable asset when measured by market capitalization, currently estimated at around $30T.

By contrast, Bitcoin’s market cap hovers in the neighborhood of just over $ 2 trillion.

Overcoming a 15x difference would require Bitcoin to get a dramatic value increase. It may also require ever-broader institutional acceptance and, arguably, a change in how global reserves and wealth are allocated.

Proponents argue that bitcoin has several advantages which suit it for the digital era: it is borderless, easily transferable, resistant to censorship, and has a capped supply 21M coins).

Why Gold Still Holds the Upper Hand

Gold has a centuries-old tradition as a store of value, a hedge against inflation and geopolitical risk, and a deeply entrenched role in central bank reserves and investor portfolios.

Veteran gold advocate Peter Schiff argues that gold remains the superior hedge and is actually the biggest threat to Bitcoin. Ultimately, the question comes down to how far you think Bitcoin can go.

Schiff’s viewpoint highlights that Bitcoin still grapples with high volatility, regulatory uncertainty, and the fact that it is not yet widely held in official reserves – at least, not nearly as widely as gold.

Gold has a global market cap of around $30T. For Bitcoin to reach those heights – assuming a total supply of the full 21M $BTC – the price would need to skyrocket.

Will Bitcoin be able to achieve that?

Bitcoin and gold share a similar use case: a store of value, rather than a proper currency.

Gold is heavy, physical, and worth too much to properly spend in physical form.

Bitcoin is comparatively slow, with a simple architecture and limited scalability. Like gold, it’s generally worth too much for people to want to spend it, particularly when high transaction fees make microtransactions not feasible.

That’s where Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER) comes in — one of the best cryptos to buy now that could propel Bitcoin from $2T to $30T.

Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER) – The Layer 2 Upgrade that Adds Fast, Cheap Transactions to Bitcoin

With Bitcoin Hyper, users deposit Bitcoin on a Bitcoin Canonical Bridge. Powered by the Solana Virtual Machine, the bridge mints wrapped $BTC on the Hyper Layer 2.

From there, investors can swap tokens, stake natively, and utilize wrapped Bitcoin across the DeFi ecosystem.

The system reserves final settlement for the original Bitcoin layer 1, creating a hybrid architecture that combines the SVM’s speed, low cost, and scalability with Bitcoin’s security and stability.

That combination explains why the $HYPER presale has already passed $24M. With tokens currently priced at $0.013145, presale investors can look to potential gains of 2334% if the token reaches $0.32.

Presale investors can also stake their $HYPER tokens for 48% APY. Learn how to buy and stake $HYPER.

Bitcoin Hyper is a vibrant, powerful Layer 2 that makes transactions fast and easy could be just the thing to power the next phase of Bitcoin’s development. Hyper could transform Bitcoin into both a leading store of value and a dynamic payments system, further enhancing Bitcoin’s already impressive potential.

CZ’s prediction is daring and neatly captures the larger story of the 21st-century value shift: from physical stores of value to digital equivalents. Whether Bitcoin will succeed in flipping gold remains far from certain, but there’s a path forward – and Bitcoin Hyper could supercharge Bitcoin’s rise.

Fed forecasts only one rate cut in 2026, a more conservative outlook than expected

The post Fed forecasts only one rate cut in 2026, a more conservative outlook than expected appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell talks to reporters following the regular Federal Open Market Committee meetings at the Fed on July 30, 2025 in Washington, DC. Chip Somodevilla | Getty Images The Federal Reserve is projecting only one rate cut in 2026, fewer than expected, according to its median projection. The central bank’s so-called dot plot, which shows 19 individual members’ expectations anonymously, indicated a median estimate of 3.4% for the federal funds rate at the end of 2026. That compares to a median estimate of 3.6% for the end of this year following two expected cuts on top of Wednesday’s reduction. A single quarter-point reduction next year is significantly more conservative than current market pricing. Traders are currently pricing in at two to three more rate cuts next year, according to the CME Group’s FedWatch tool, updated shortly after the decision. The gauge uses prices on 30-day fed funds futures contracts to determine market-implied odds for rate moves. Here are the Fed’s latest targets from 19 FOMC members, both voters and nonvoters: Zoom In IconArrows pointing outwards The forecasts, however, showed a large difference of opinion with two voting members seeing as many as four cuts. Three officials penciled in three rate reductions next year. “Next year’s dot plot is a mosaic of different perspectives and is an accurate reflection of a confusing economic outlook, muddied by labor supply shifts, data measurement concerns, and government policy upheaval and uncertainty,” said Seema Shah, chief global strategist at Principal Asset Management. The central bank has two policy meetings left for the year, one in October and one in December. Economic projections from the Fed saw slightly faster economic growth in 2026 than was projected in June, while the outlook for inflation was updated modestly higher for next year. There’s a lot of uncertainty…
