With the market prospecting to the first quarter of 2026, the investment behavior is beginning to alter. Cryptocurrencies in the large cap sector are gaining less speed, and the tide is shifting towards those projects that are still in early stages but evidently advancing. This is usually the point where the focus starts accumulating, and then more people start paying attention. Among the discussions of what the best cryptos to buy now are, a new DeFi cryptocurrency whose price is less than $0.05 is gaining more and more prominence.

What Mutuum Finance Is Building Up as V1 Approaches

Mutuum Finance (MUTM) is building an Ethereum-based decentralized finance project (DeFi) that gives loans and takes loans in an organized and non-hyped way. The architecture will facilitate actual on-chain operation.

Those users who provide assets are granted the duration of the redeemable value in the form of the mtTokens, which increase in value as interest is paid by the borrowers. As an example, the provision of ETH will yield mtETH, which can be redeemed to get additional ETH with time as borrowing demands rise. There is an inverse relationship between yield and usage, rather than emissions.

Borrowers obtain liquidity by collateralizing in accordance with set down rules. Utilization and Rates react, risk is handled by Loan-to-Value limits. Liquidations are done automatically, in case the collateral values fall to dangerous levels, which will have a balanced impact on the entire system.

With the official X statement, V1 will go live in the Sepolia Testnet in Q4 2025. This milestone brings in the Liquidity Pool, mtToken, Debt Token, and Liquidator Bot where the original supported assets will be ETH and USDT. Simultaneously, Halbon Security is checking the completed smart contracts, which is an additional measure of preparedness to further action before the use of the testnet.

Growth Funds

The number of people participating in Mutuum Finance has increased. The project has collected over $19.30M funds and currently has over 18,400 investors. In the case of a lending-based DeFi crypto, liquidity in the early stage is significant, as well as a large pool of holders. They assist in creating depth prior to live borrowing and lending commencement.

The token presale was launched on the market at the beginning of 2025, and it is now quoted at $0.035. That is effectively a 250% growth, attained not by dramatic surges. To most who evaluate the next crypto to purchase it is one that has been accumulated based on this trend, not a speculative one.

Distribution, Access and Supply Structure

The total supply of MUTM stands at 4B. This sum breaks down to 45.5% or 1.82B tokens of this sum being applied to early distribution. By now, the amount of tokens that have been sold is 820M. This implies that a good percentage of initial supply has been eaten up.

There has been an openness in the community. Its 24-hour leaderboard, which gives the best contributor of the day a reward of $500 of MUTM keeps the activity going on.  These portals are the reason why MUTM is mentioned more often in the context of the most suitable cryptocurrency to invest in in 2026 when it is Q1.

Another aspect that is attracting attention is security preparation. Mutuum Finance has undergone a CertiK audit with 90 / 100 certification score of Token Scan. This will help in gaining early verification of the protocol design. Together with this, the current Halborn Security audit and a $50k bug bounty would code minimize uncertainty prior to V1.

The reason Phase 6 Is Generating Urgency

Phase 6 is now allocated more than 99% and so there is very limited availability at the current price. Behavior tends to alter in late-stages. The closer supply, the more attention to it is obtained and not lost.

Recently, there has been a $120K allocation from whales, which is usually the case when any of the large participants needs to place before milestones rather than after them. The interest of the whales at this point is usually the belief in timing and delivery and not the speculation of the short term.

As the next phase brings a higher price on purpose, the ability to stay at the current levels is rapidly diminishing. That is why the urgency is to receive an invitation to the discussion concerning MUTM.

Potential U.S. Recession Could Buy Japan More Time as It Faces Debt Implosion, Says Brookings Economist Robin Brooks

The post Potential U.S. Recession Could Buy Japan More Time as It Faces Debt Implosion, Says Brookings Economist Robin Brooks appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. While much of the attention from the crypto and traditional markets remains on the U.S., a recent analysis by a leading economist suggests it’s time to look east. Japan is teetering on the edge of a debt crisis, but a potential recession in the U.S. could provide the land of the rising sun a temporary window of relief, according to Robin Brooks, senior fellow in the Global Economy and Development program at the Brookings Institution. Japan’s debt-to-GDP is a problem For years, Japan has held the highest public debt-to-GDP ratio among advanced economies, consistently hovering above 200%. However, in the post-COVID era marked by massive fiscal spending, investors’ tolerance for such high debt levels has waned. To complicate matters, Japan’s inflation, as measured by the consumer price index (CPI), has surged since mid-2022, bringing inflation rates up to levels not seen since the 1980s. The trend is consistent with the sticky price pressures worldwide. The elevated inflation has pushed government bond yields higher and increased the cost of additional fiscal borrowing. These combined pressures have thrust Japan’s staggering debt-to-GDP ratio of around 240% into the spotlight, effectively boxing the government into a difficult position. Brooks put it best in his latest Substack post: “The bottom line is that exceptionally high government debt is putting Japan in a terrible bind. If Japan sticks with low interest rates, it risks further Yen depreciation, which could cause inflation to run out of control. If it anchors the Yen by allowing yields to rise further, this could put Japan’s debt sustainability at risk.” “This catch-22 means a debt crisis is much closer than people think,” he added. Growing debt concerns could drive investors to alternative financial escape valves such as cryptocurrencies, mainly stablecoins. Japanese startup JPYC is planning to issue the first stablecoin pegged…
