Gavin Newsom's Press Office has called out Donald Trump's administration for failing to pay out on a dividend they promised nearly a year ago.

The DOGE dividend featured in planning documents written up during Elon Musk's time in government, with the Department of Government Efficiency hoping to cut so much in-house expenditure that they could go on to give some money to taxpayers. This never came to be, though the team behind the Governor of California has not forgotten.

Also missing, aside from the DOGE dividend, is an update on tariff rebates, which were promised by the president's team when he introduced tariffs to the economic plan.

Karoline Leavitt was asked for an update on the dividend pay, but it seems there is no new update from the White House. She was asked, "Is there an update regarding the tariff rebate checks the White House promised?"

Leavitt replied, "I don't have an update for you." Newsom's Press Office has since mocked the lack of update and called out the president's team for not having anything for those who completed their tariff check.

A post to the Gavin Newsom Press Office X account reads, "Confirmed our tariff check three times in Trump’s fundraising emails. Where’s the check? Where’s the DOGE dividend?"

Attached to their post is a screenshot of the Trump tariff check, with three "confirm check here" buttons on a page with a picture of Trump holding a stack of bills.

Newsom's constant trolling of Trump comes as the Governor of California seemingly makes a move to bring down the president's regime.

A recent trip to speak about energy with UK officials seemingly caused frustrations for Trump. “The more Trump takes the bait, the more attention you get in return,” an adviser said, regarding the British energy trip.

They added, “But it’s much bigger than that. It’s about bringing attention to the fact that what Trump is doing is out of step and it’s not normal and it’s not the American view. It certainly does not reflect what the American people want.”
