For more than seven years now, Blackpink has reigned as not just one of the biggest names in K-pop, but perhaps the most successful girl group on the planet. The women who comprise the group — Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa — have been churning out hits and selling millions of albums for well over half a decade. Yet so far, they have not earned any love from the Recording Academy.

K-pop remains undervalued when it comes to the Grammy Awards, but with a huge new single eligible for the 2026 ceremony, Blackpink could make history and finally earn some long-overdue Grammy-shaped recognition.

Where Did Blackpink’s “Jump” Peak on the Hot 100?

This summer, after years of relative quiet while the four members pursued solo ventures, Blackpink returned with the highly-anticipated single titled “Jump.” The tune debuted and peaked at No. 28 on the Hot 100, earning the girl group its milestone tenth appearance on the list of the most consumed songs in the country. “Jump” likely fronts an upcoming EP or album from the quartet, but for now, details about their next steps are being withheld from the public.

Where Did Blackpink’s “Jump” Reach on the Billboard Charts?

“Jump” performed even better on Billboard’s dance and electronic rankings, where it either helped Blackpink score a debut smash or brought the band to never-before-seen heights. The single reached No. 2 on both the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs and Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs tallies. It also brought Blackpink to No. 1 on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart for the first time. The fact that the group has leaned so heavily into what can only be called electronic dance music with “Jump” may help the troupe finally earn a Grammy nod.

Blackpink’s Best Grammy Chance: Best Dance Pop Recording

Blackpink’s best shot at a nomination at the 2026 Grammys is likely in the Best Dance Pop Recording field. The category was introduced two years ago and has so far only been won by solo female acts. Kylie Minogue was the inaugural champion with “Padam Padam,” while earlier this year, Charli XCX’s “Von Dutch” took home the trophy.

Blackpink Could Compete in Several Grammy Categories

Blackpink could go another route with the hit. If the Best Dance Pop Recording category looks too competitive, “Jump” could potentially be a fit for the Best Dance/Electronic Recording field. That vertical was recently split to make room for both pure electronic tracks as well as those that cater more to a top 40 crowd, which is now Best Dance Pop Recording.

Over the years, the Recording Academy has awarded Best Dance/Electronic Recording to a mix of industry favorites and mainstream stars, with artists like Beyoncé, Dua Lipa, and Justin Bieber among its past winners. More recently, voters have been favoring those who are favorites in dance and electronica, while the more famous names of the bunch have been shuffled into the newer grouping.

What K-Pop Acts Have Been Nominated for Grammys?

Blackpink is looking to become just the second K-pop act to be nominated for a Grammy. So far, only BTS has earned that honor, with the septet racking up five chances to win, but still no golden gramophone. Those nominations include Album of the Year as featured artists on a Coldplay full-length, as well as three consecutive nods for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Rosé and Lisa Could Score Solo Grammy Nominations

Blackpink has a real shot at a Grammy nomination this year, as do several of the singers who make up the group. Rosé’s “Apt.,” a duet with Bruno Mars, was one of the most successful songs in the world during the most recent eligibility period. It’s very much in the running for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and possibly Record and Song of the Year, two of the biggest categories.

Lisa has multiple tracks that could end up in contention for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, including “Born Again” with Raye and Doja Cat, as well as “Priceless,” which was led by Maroon 5.
