MEXC France Service Wind-Down: Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why is MEXC winding down services in France?

As part of our ongoing regulatory alignment, MEXC will gradually wind down services for users in France. We are carrying this out in stages to give every affected user enough time to prepare.

2. Why is my account affected?

The wind-down applies to France-linked users, identified based on applicable KYC and account information. If you received an email from MEXC with a batch number, your account is included.

3. I believe my account was included by mistake. What should I do?

Contact Customer Service as soon as possible, and before your Action Required By date. You may be asked to provide additional information or documents for review. Submitting a review request does not pause or extend your timeline unless MEXC confirms otherwise.

4. My account information has changed. What should I do?

Eligibility is based on your KYC and account information. If your personal details have changed, contact Customer Service before your Action Required By date to request a review. You may be asked to provide supporting documents. A review request does not pause or extend your timeline unless MEXC confirms otherwise.

Please note that using a VPN or other tools to get around restrictions breaches MEXC's Terms of Use.

5. Can I open a new MEXC account?

No. New account registrations are not currently available for users in France.

6. When is this happening?

The wind-down runs in four batches between Oct 28, 2026 and Mar 5, 2027. All times are in UTC+1.

  • Remaining positions closed automatically: Jan 22, 2027, 00:00
  • Withdrawal-only mode begins: Jan 25, 2027, 00:00
  • Withdrawals close: Mar 5, 2027, 00:00

7. How do I find out my batch?

Your batch number and dates will be sent to your registered email address and your in-app notifications. Please also check your Spam folder. If you can't find the email, contact Customer Service.

8. Why are users split into batches? Can I choose or change my batch?

Batches allow us to carry out the wind-down in an orderly way and give each user dedicated support. Batch assignments are final and cannot be changed.

9. What happens on my wind-down start date?

Your account will move to reduce-only mode. You will no longer be able to make any new deposits, Spot buys, Earn subscriptions or loans, or place orders that open or add to positions. You can still adjust margin, close or reduce positions, repay loans, and withdraw your assets.

10. What happens if I don't act before my dates?

From Jan 22, 2027, 00:00 (UTC+1), any positions still open will be closed automatically at fair price, and remaining holdings will be settled based on available liquidity and market conditions. This may result in losses or fees. We strongly recommend managing your positions and holdings before this date, so you control when and how they are closed.

Batch 4 users' wind-down start date and automatic position closure both take effect on Jan 22, 2027, so please close your positions by Jan 21, 2027.

11. What should I do now?

Before your Action Required By date, please:
  • Cancel open orders and manage open positions
  • Redeem eligible products
  • Settle outstanding liabilities
  • Convert assets, if needed
  • Download your transaction history and account statements
  • Withdraw your assets

12. Can I still deposit funds?

Deposits remain available until your wind-down start date. We recommend not making new deposits, so you can complete your withdrawals smoothly.

13. Are there fees for withdrawing?

Only standard network fees apply to withdrawals during the wind-down. Positions or loans that are settled automatically may be subject to fees under the applicable product rules.

14. Do I need my transaction history for taxes?

You are responsible for your own tax obligations. Please download your transaction history and account statements before withdrawals close, as you may need them for your tax reporting. MEXC does not provide tax advice.

15. Are my assets safe?

Yes. Your assets remain secure throughout the entire wind-down.

16. What happens to assets left in my account after withdrawals close?

Any assets remaining after Mar 5, 2027, 00:00 (UTC+1) will be transferred to a regulated custodian. Details on the custodian and how to claim your assets will be announced separately. Converting or settling unsupported assets may give you a different value than you expect, so we recommend withdrawing before this date.

17. What happens to my rewards and event participation?

From Oct 28, 2026, users in France can no longer join or continue participating in platform events. Rewards earned before Oct 28, 2026 will still be honored, even if they are distributed after this date.

18. What happens to my personal data?

MEXC will continue to handle your data under its Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws, including GDPR. Some data may be kept for the periods required by law.

19. Can I continue trading elsewhere?

Yes. To help affected users through the transition, MEXC has arranged referral options with trading platforms regulated in the EU. If you are eligible, you will receive the details by email. Taking up these referrals is entirely optional, and you are free to choose any provider that suits your needs.

20. Will my account be transferred automatically?

No. Your MEXC account and assets will not be migrated automatically. If you choose another provider, you will need to complete its onboarding and transfer your assets yourself.

21. How will I be kept informed?

We will share every update through official MEXC channels: announcements, email, in-app notifications, and pop-ups. A detailed product announcement will be published at a later date. You will also receive reminders as your dates approach.

22. How do I avoid scams?

MEXC will never ask for your password, verification codes or private keys, or ask you to transfer assets to a “migration” or “safe” wallet. Only use links from official MEXC channels, including the referral links in official MEXC emails, and verify any suspicious contact through MEXC Verify.

23. Who can I contact for help?

Contact our online Customer Service team for questions about your MEXC account. For questions about another provider’s products or services, please contact that provider directly.
